Discussion Thread for Ask Hasbro Your Burning Transformers Question - Part I

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I haven't had a need to log in to TFW in several years now.

...several years? Holy crap, I've been talking about Transformers online for 4 years now.

Sorry if this one's already been suggested, I haven't really been following the thread.

What if we used this to create a petition for a Leader Class reworking of the Universe Galvetron that just came out. I think most people on here seem to agree this was ALMOST a really fantastic toy. I just picked one up and while I think I'm happier with it than some here, it's painfully clear a very special opportunity was missed. Does anybody not think he would have made a better choice than several of the larger scale toys from this line?

I am perfectly satisfied with a deluxe Galvatron. A Galvatron who doesn't tower over every other Decepticon, Autobot, and Combiner has always been a far off dream of mine.

MikePrime: Will there be a Transformers Crossovers G.I. Joe line?

We have had many discussions about GI Joe Transformers either executed as the other Crossovers lines or even true to the Comic (Joe figures and Transformers figures together). Right now is just not the best time with the Movies being the main focus for brands, so don't expect to see it in 2009.

Curses!

For those interested, Raving Toy Maniac got back their answers as well. Incidentally the last two questions are mine. :D Looks like G.I. Joe/Transformers Crossover was a popular question that got the same exact response, but at least they know the demand is really there. They do comment on the Botcon Seekers, at least they seem to be pretending to be regretful now.

Whoa, Galvatron's a triple-changer. Hadn't seen anything about that...

I'm guessing that they're going to bring MP-Grimlock to the US.

:argh BOB SAGET :argh

My first sketches of Galvatron's alt mode were of a large cannon that took a lot of design ques from the G1 movie but had treds.

I had a thought about Alternity, I wonder if something about the design/construction is likely to fail US toy laws (or maybe parent expectations for a "toy"), which is why they're not considering releasing it

* notes that the Hybrid Convoys were never released here either *

Well if they want to bring over MP figures, I'm sure they'd be thinking that that would just about cover the "collector" side of things. That plus the legacy of Alternators.

I think from Hasbro's viewpoint, the 25th Anniversary toys and maybe one MP (Grimlock) are about as good as they can do to satisfy the "adult collector" market.

That plus the legacy of Alternators.

Yeah, Alt fanboy (sniffle) wishes to the contrary, I get the impression that Hasbro wasn't very pleased with the Alt's market performance. Add to the fact that I'm not convinced that Alternitiy is going to be anything more than the two Nissans, makes me think Hasbro isn't going to bother with another set of "one-offs" of Optimus and Megs.

Especially, not when they have a new movie coming out for which they know toys will fly off of the shelves.

I would love to WarWithin diobots and a few other in the classic lines or a new line.
