I just opened mine and they SO blow animated out of the water!

 

The only gripes I can find is with Tankor. I'm not too crazy about his shoulder hinges. That could have been done a little better I think. Sunstreaker is every bit as insanely cool as he looked from day 1. I can't wait to put Sideswipe along with him.

 

Prowl is pretty much dead on his g1 self only better!

 

Man I can't wait for more of this line.

 

I also think I like the Animated Activators better than their larger counterparts save for Bulkhead. Sorry Bulky's alt mode is a little odd and he's kinda loose in both modes. Still, he's not bad.

 

Bumblebee is definitely in better scale with Bulkhead but still not perfect. However, he should be perfect with the leader version.

 

The big WTF?!? was the price...$8.99 each. I thought they were only supposed to be like $4.99 or something like that. I might not have gotten them if I knew at the time they were that much.

I was able to pickup 'Streaker, OcTankor, and Prowl at TFCon, and they truly are amazing toys. Great engineering, look awesome in all modes, and wonderful detailing. I can hardly wait for the Voyagers of wave 1. Lets not even talk about wave 2.

Glad you found them in your neck of the woods madman.

 

For those who are into Animated; I'm glad you enjoy the line, and I wish both the Animated line and show a long, successful run. There are those of us, however, who don't like the Animated aesthetic and prefer the G1/UT/Universe look. Let us have our fun while you have yours.

Heh, I was thinking the same thing.

 

 

I think, ultimately, I prefer TFs that represent characters I like from a TV show - and in the case of G1, the original toys are what represent those characters, not Classics (I actually think the Classics fit in better with the A/E/C design aesthetic, not G1).

 

While I might pick up a Universe toy here or there if I happen to see one I think's cool while shopping, I'm not going to drive around like a crazy person looking for them.

That's fine, and I love the movie toys as well.

I'm even enjoying the few Animated figures I have that appeal to me (Blackarachnia, Voyager Cyb. Megs).

I just don't see the point to someone posting in a thread that's obviously going to be a Universe love-fest and saying "Universe sucks, Animated rules!"

If you think that, all the power to you, I hope you enjoy the Animated line for many years. Again though, just don't rain on our parade when we enjoy our preferred TF line (not directed at Hobbes, just clearing up what I said earlier).

Hey- by all means, enjoy them. I'm just not sure I'm into the looks of the new Classics fare. There were only a few of the first Classics figures I liked and picked up. I'm not saying you can't enjoy them, just that I'm not as into them as I thought I was when I starting getting the Animated figs.

 

I think I'm to a point in my personal collection where I only want to keep toys from G2 (my childhood), BW/BM, Movie, and Animated- along with a few nifty figs from this line here and that line there.
