Animated Voyager Earth-mode Optimus Prime is pretty terrible, actually

Recommended Posts

Classics was pure :win

You are correct on that. I was primarily talking TV series and their figures. I'm really pretty excited about the new classics line as well.

OH and I just went out and got a Voyager Prime...I've been sitting here with him for a couple of hours, transforming him back and forth. I think that before folks start going off about how bad they are and how terrible Hasbro is for releasing these figures...take some time to work with them. After folding out and pushing in slightly mine has tight shoulders. Thanks to reading this post earlier I have had no problems with his waste. The gravity spin thingy, while tricky at first, works perfectly. Also his face looks exactly like it does on the show so I'm really not sure where the complaints on that are coming from.

I will say that the axe is bad. I just put that piece a side and armed him with his gun. The Deluxe 2 pack axe fits perfectly though. I may make a custom axe for him though. I don't want to go buy a second 2 pack just for the axe.

is his waiste supposed to click the whole time your transforming him? that's the only concern I have.

this toy has come out in Australia (although not in my state :() and I've heard reports that this is a pretty disappointing figure. :(

I got a voyager optimus and i love the figure. He is loose because of his transformation. i highly recommend the figure!

Found voyager Prime today, and it is pure and simple awesome. The axe is kind of lame, but this toy itself is just plain incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone who's enjoying this line thus far. All the complaints I've heard are all unfounded, people are nit-picking way too much on this thing. It rocks, buy it.

I don't think so. You're supposed to push a little black button at the base of his back. When you do it releases his legs and they Spin and swing down into place. You may be forcing the waste to spin which would probably end up stripping the little gear. A few people have done this already because they didn't know about the little button. Thankfully I watched a Youtube review and caught that before I even bought him.

Oh and Goki....He is an AWSOME figure! Just check it out yourself. Folks are being way to niti-picky about all these figures. He's really alot of fun.

I dunno... I'm pretty fire exit... :P

Just check it out yourself.

I would if I could find this toy!! :P I have every intention of getting the Voyager figure because the battle damage on the Deluxe turns me off and I can't justify paying for the Rollout Command figure.

This reminds me of all the people screwing up and breaking movie Bumblebee, and Blackout.

Defective my ass, just read the instructions. I bought both the first day of release and no problems with either.

V Prime looks great. If he suffers from anything it would be the sacrificed articulation/regular joint stiffness for the sake of an automorph gimmick.

This is a buy on sight toy for me btw.

I think Prime is easily one of the top two Voyagers in Animated, the other being Bulkhead. The axe isn't the greatest, but hey, it's a bit of a half trailer, which is unique, and I already have 2 Primes with better "show accurate" axes. I think it looks great attached to his back, almost like wings really. My only real gripes are the shoulder flop a bit, unless you push them in to lock them somewhat, and that he has no Autobot symbol! What's up with that? Really though, it's a great toy.

yea, no i got the part about changing to bot mode. but when i change him back to truck in order to get the waist into position and the legs spun around it clicks alot. i havent done it but twice until i find out if this is normal.
