I won't feel ripped off buying him if a leader is released, but I do feel ripped off at the moment, cause he ain't voyager material.

There is a leader class being released. He comes with The Headmaster. So don't feel ripped off.

I think he's talking about Lugnut, not Bulkhead.

If that's not the case, then I believe he was a voyager but was designed to fit inside the pre-established voyager packaging, thus the shrinkage.

^It's this, more or less.

Size class is determined by more than just figure height, but the overall mass. The wide body frames of both Lugnut and Bulkhead required Hasbro to bring down their height in order to make them fit at the Voyager size class - not only in the box, but fit in terms of production costs and things like that. There is, essentially, the same amount of plastic in your Bulkhead and Lugnut figures as there is in your Grimlock and Voyager Earth Mode Prime figures. It's just shaped differently.

This phenomenon carries over to the Leader Bulkhead, too, who stands about as tall as Voyager Prime when they're placed side-to-side - shorter than a leader Class like Earth Mode Megatron, but again, wider as well.

For a reverse of this effect, see Deluxe Lockdown, who stands taller than I think everyone but Leader Class Megatron so far, but is skinny enough for his overall mass to make him fit the deluxe price point.

Seriously, I've never been so unsure of a figure before. I mean everything about him just screams "YOU LOVE THIS TOY!!" to me, but then I put him on the shelf next to Bumblebee, and Bumblebee looks down at him.

*sigh* Guess its the Leader class for this avowed non-scale phag.

Just put him on a different shelf with Lugnut: problem solved. :tflaugh

I think Lugnut's name should have been Wingnut, since he's a plane and not a wheeled thing...

The same logic should have been applied to Bulkhead, too. You know, since he's not a ship.

Went to my nearest Wal-Mart today to see if the Official Animated Release Date ® actually means anything. It didn't.

Bought Blackarachnia to show my displeasure.

I said it before but it bears repeating, Blackarachnia is damn sexy!

So far I'm really happy with the few I've found and grabbed. I have Cyb Prime, Prowl, and the 2-pack. The 2-pack definitely leaves a little something to be desired, but battle damage aside, I'm happy with the Prime; Megatron, now I had the chance to grab the voy this weekend after I grabbed the 2-pack, but I'm really not too convinced that I need to own this thing, it feels really...lacking.

I almost grabbed a Lockdown yesterday, but decidedly passed, still no interest in Ratchet, and sat looking, thinking long and hard, but couldn't convince myself to grab a BA. They also had a Bulkhead and a Starscream, both of which are just uninspired. Maybe I'll have to see them out of package, in person, to really appreciate them, but until then.... Haven't even seen a Bumblebee yet, not that it matters, I'm really not feeling it on that one.

What I wanted to find this weekend more than anything, but didn't, was Grimlock and voy Prime. I think my Prime desire is what persuaded me to grab the 2-pack, just to have an Earth mode Prime. I will grab Soundwave whenever he finally surfaces, as well as the other 2 dinobots and Omega Supreme. Knowing me, by the time it's all said and done, I'll have far more than I ever intended on picking up, but such is my lot in life. I'm already strongly considering going back and trying to grab the voy Megatron, just for the sake of having a decent Megatron, but again, I'm not convinced on the Leader version either...maybe.

I understand your point, and I'm sure you're correct. Still, it's disappointing when 90% of TFA figures are actually scaled correctly. I know in my bones there will be a Leader Lugnut, there kind of has to be, considering the second wave consists only of Magnus, and you'd be hard pressed to even think of a third wave unless they go the stupid route and make a ridiculously big Prime and Bumblebee.

I have 6 figures so far, Grimlock, Lockdown, Cybertron Prime, Blackarachnia, Lugnut and Ratchet. Frankly, Ratchet is my current fav. I think he's gonna surprise a lot of people who give him a chance.

There were only three Leader Class molds in the movie line, so I wouldn't expect more than Megatron, Ultra Magnus, and Bulkhead in Animated. We'll probably see repaints of them in the future waves, but no more original molds in that size class.

Not to be a total killjoy, or anything.

The movie also had a significantly smaller time window of popularity and far less characters though. Animated will have much greater longevity imo, and with future waves including Blur and Arcee, they're going to need new larger figures.

Well, Cybertron only had Prime, Megs, and Metroplex at the Leader Class.

Energon only had Optimus and Megatron.

Armada only had...well, they had different size classifications, so they didn't have any.

I'm not trying to deny you your Leader Lugnut. I hope they do make one. I just wouldn't hold my breath is all I'm saying. Two or three molds tends to be the cap on the larger size classes.
