Introducees to Animated

Recommended Posts

Ravage.

Just because.

Seconded.

And also, maybe Rumble and Frenzy, could use disguise like movie Frenzy, and then the robot mode is about the size of adult human, acting as driver/passenger on Soundwave's alt mode.

Damn, "Let's get ready to rumble with Rumble!!"

i want wheelie. and kup,and uhh, let´s see...rattrap would work for animated.

By the way, you're saying the ut characters wouldn't fit in,but bumblebee was originally going to be hotshot. he was replaced after the movie decided to rehash bumblebee's popularity. (which,in my opinion,is a complete load of bull, since bumblebee has been a top choice throughout all series)

1: Bumblebee is pretty much Rattrap.

2: Between G1 Pretender Bumblebee and Classics Bumblebee, no Bumblebee toy was ever made, because during that time, Hasbro had lost the right to the name. Only thanks to the movie, they reaquired it. Classics Bumblebee makes use of that, only because of the postponement of the Movie.

And, really, the "Hotshot" role is pretty much the role of the youngster. In the few episodes of Animated, Bumblebee had more characterization than Hotshot had in three series.

Rattrap = grizzled blue collar worker who questions orders, especially if they could get him killed. Would rather sneak in and sneak out than get in a shoot out.

Bumblebee = youngster with something to prove. More ambition than ability. Prefers a straight fight to all that sneakin' around.

They both come from the basic premise of being an annoying smartass. They just developed differently, but in the classic five-man group composition, they both fulfill the slot of the wiseguy.

Or, in case you never noticed: In a lot of this kind of media, the core group of heroes consists of five members, like a five man band:

* The Hero - (lead singer) - the leader of the group; can be clean-cut and upstanding, bold and charismatic, serious and driven, or some combination of the three. (Animated Prime, Primal, Aang)

* The Lancer - (lead guitarist) - the second-in-command, usually a contrast to The Hero. If the Hero is clean-cut, the Lancer is a grizzled Anti Hero; if the Hero is the driven and straight-laced type, the Lancer is more relaxed and level-headed. In a comedy situation, the Lancer is often The Straight Man or a Deadpan Snarker. (Ratchet, Dinobot, Katara)

* The Big Guy - (bassist or drummer) - the strongman of the team, often dumb. Or mute. Sometimes a Genius Bruiser instead. (Bulkhead, Rhinox, Toph)

* The Smart Guy - (keyboardist) - the physically weak, but intelligent or clever member, often annoying or for comic relief; often a Trickster and a buddy of the Big Guy. ( Bumblebee, Rattrap, Sokka)

* The Chick - (tambourine, vocal effects) - usually the band's "heart" or moral center and usually the most innocent and/or emotional of the group. This role is usually taken by the token female of the group, hence the name, and if there's a royal in the band, it's usually her: see Princess Allura (Voltron), and Princess Leia Organa (Star Wars). If done wrong, the poor Chick is little more than a useless tag-along who gets in the other heroes' way. If done right, she can become a secondary Lancer or Smart Guy, or perhaps the Team Mom. The Hero and Lancer are usually in a Love Triangle with her at the center. (Cheetor, Prowl. Yes, I know, they're not female, but remember, this is all metaphoric. And Katara and Toph are both The Chicks, although Katara more than Toph)

I want to see the return of the classic G-1 characters. I want to see the Stunticons as a combiner team. I also want to see the Arielbots. I'd love to see some of the other villians too. An animated Unicron and Quintessons would be most welcome. And a-hey, how about a Hotrod figure? ok ok, i know, it's "Rodimus" these days. I guess he had to grow up some time. ;) also, what about good old Kup? it would be fun to have two cranky old bots on the show XD reliving old war stories.

From other series...it's kinda hard to imagine too many more Beast Wars characters in there...maybe...Silverbolt would be fun. or maybe Waspinator? Cheetor would be good to bring in but let's face it, Bumblebee already has the post of the Juvinile kid who will grow to be a mature and compitent warrior thing covered. his facing down Starscream in he Rise Of Megatron shows that he's got the heart.

Armada/Energon/Cybertron didn't really have too many memorable characters there that i care about so i ignore those shows. :redface

I've put some thought into it, and I'd really like a BW Ravage in Animated.

Similar robot mode design (right down to the Jaguar head) and background (fought in the Great War, loyal to Megs), Russian accent... the works.

Part of the reason I'd like him is to see how they work in the kitty head. They were fairly creative in working in BA's technorganic facets, I bet they could do something good for Ravage. Or, if they're just feeling lazy, make his alt-mode a Jaguar and the head carries over. After all, we haven't seen any other normal Cybertronians with beast modes (Dinobots aren't really Cybertronians, and BA's a freak).

My choices:

- Rodimus Prime. Since Prime is a rank here, it would be no problem at all to fit him in.

- Tarantulas. I agree that he'd fit in. He's easily integrated with Black Arachnia's background in many different ways.

- Cyclonus. I'd love to see him as a rival to Starscream.

- Ravage, Frenzy and Rumble. 'Nuff said there.

I can list a few more ideas (mainly Autobots) but these top them as the best. I'd love to see some more Decepticons, but aside from Shockwave I can't think of any more good ones.

I'd love to have a BW Rampage on the show. Big and Evil as ever and still a triple changer

or at least have a 3 mode if you dont call that being a triple changer

I'd like to see the greatest G1 TF of all appear in TFA. That's right - TIME WARRIOR!

Jetstrom from beast machines!

oh yeah also cheetor

I'd like to see new characters first

maybe the combaticons, the other main cassette cons and then something random say BW neo Break
