Introducees to Animated

Recommended Posts

Of all the continuities of Transformers, which character would you love to see appear, or perhaps even have a permanent position, within "Animated"?

I must say, I'm personally very thrilled with the rumour of Waspinator appearing in "Animated". I think he can really work within the Decepticon Legion. Plus, he's such a lovable character.

Another character I would love to see back in one form or another is Tarantulas. Yes, Starscream is a schemer, and very capable too. However, he's not as sneaky and perverted as Tarantulas. Nor is he as secretive or sinister. One could see him taking on a transorganic existence because, as a mad scientist, he believes that to be the next step in Transformer evolution. Or whatever, I just want to see him "animated".

Well, if we're going to go the Beast Wars route, I've gotta say Inferno. I think his character would fit right in with Lugnut, Blitzwing and the rest of the crew.

Other than that, Smokescreen. Just cuz. (even a Prowl repaint would be cool).

I agree with Father Time's choices, but I'd like to also suggest that an Animated version of Movie Frenzy could be winderful.

Sadly, the Anime Transformers (also known as the transformers from the Unicron trilogy) had so little characterization, it's hard to see one of them be part of the Animated crew, mostly because all of the Anime-formers are so bland. None of them really sticks out.

Going away from Beast Wars, which, in terms of bringing the characters to life and separating them from eachother, was the most succesful TF cartoon, I would love to see the following, but only after Optimus Prime has become more of a top leader, and less an inexperienced newbie platoon squad chief: With Prime a self-confident and direct leader, I would love to see a BM Cheetor in the series. Not the exact same character (which may also be fun, to show a character grow and mature as Cheetor did through BW and BM), but someone who acts as a second in command, questioning Prime's leadership. Right now, Optimus Prime is more like Rodimus: inexperienced, and occasionally likely to bouts of self-doubt. At this moment in the series, that's great. However, the opposite of a Rodimus, a character that is too hardlined and self-confident, a Grimlock so-to-speak, in the leader role would be very interesting. I don't see anyone in the current crew having the courage and backbone to question Prime in such an event (except perhaps Prowl, but he's Batman in my eyes, and Batman can do everything). Such a second-in-command, a friend who is willing to NOT side with you on everything, would fit in the kind of story that this series tries to portray. Just, indeed, not quite right now. The character, especially Prime himself, aren't quote ready for that yet. But in season three or four, perhaps they would be.

The thing about Prime in Animated is that he's not a leader of anything. Ultra Magnus is the Autobot commander; Prime is just some guy.

I think that dynamic is the most interesting (mostly) unexplored area of Prime's character and his relationship to the rest of the Autobots thus far.

It's very Primal, to say the least. Difference is, Primal had no-one to report to. Animated-Prime, although not quite yet, will soon have to deal with his superiors.

i'd like to see G1 Tracks and Smokescreen just for the luv of them

exacry

Although it is odd to me that Prime (as far as I can remember) hasn't reported anything that's happened on Earth to Ultra Magnus and the dudes on Cybertron yet.

I also forget that it has been fifty years since they were last in contact with them... though I get the impression that fifty years isn't such a long time for these guys.

I guess I really need to watch this show :redface

But I would love to see Springer
