Lied to???? :roll Seriously get a hold of yourselves. Most of these 'lies' were just the media showing some old stock footage of the cartoons (because they have nothing else). I don't ever remember Bay, Spielberg or anyone claiming it would be a G1 movie - ever.

That was just us fans adding 2 and 2 together and getting 5.

Sorry to dig up this dead horse.

Neither Bay or Spielberg claimed it was going to be a G1-movie; however, I would lay some blame on Don Murphy's website.

What's funny is that Murphy himself never actually claimed it would be G1 redone. However, as I recall, he did:

a. say it would be based on G1

b. say he liked the G1-comics (although, I don't remember if this was ever clarified as to Dreamwave or the original Marvel run - but it wouldn't surprise me if it was DW)

c. say he was a big proponent of using the original voice actors, such as Peter Cullen

d. solicit suggestions on what characters should be included.

That said, he himself never actually lied, but people on his website and the mirrored "news" elsewhere tended to take everything at face value and assume that if points a-d were met that the design aesthetic of the 'bots themselves wouldn't change.

Cabal told me it's the 'behind the scenes' from the 20th DVD (can't tell b/c I don't have quicktime on my work computer).

Lots of stuff exploding. Lots of fast cars, planes and helicopters. No CG robots... yet

While I respect the photoshop-fu going on, and it's neat to see those designs brought to life, I think that page is the single best argument for the movie designs we've seen so far.

True. As nice as they are... it just wouldn't work. Big ol' red tank!

Any one think that Bay and Co will kill Prime in the next movie and promote rodimus or Magnus seeing as its a trilogy???? I'm really looking forward to this movie and cant wait for the sequel , imagine the possibilities of seing Fort Max on screen or cybertron!!!!! Awesome.................one gripe though the Ark is up there with the Millenium Falcon on the coolness scale for me and really wanted it in the movie but Meh!!!
