TFans' Official 'Transformers Movie' Thread

Recommended Posts

When I go to see Transformers I do not need to see G1 on the screen. I do want to see something that is founded in reality. If the plot is good and the acting strong then the movie will be a success.

If you need your G1 fix go buy the DVD's. This is not G1 and no matter how much you complain it won't change. They're to far along to make drastic changes especially to the robots. You'll have to learn to live with it.

Dude.. I NEVER said JACK about G1, now, did I? I talked about the 'FEEL' of Transformers, something that's been pretty consistant through the current lines.

You enjoy watching a bunch of spare parts, loose hydraulics, and bionicles pretend to be Prime and Megatron. I'll enjoy watching G1, Beast Wars, RID, and Galaxy Force. And I don't talk down to people until THEY talk down to ME.

Well then you'll be ok, since they keep saying this will have the 'FEEL' of Transformers.

That's what they said about Godzilla. And the designs do NOT have the "FEEL" of ANY generation of transformers. At least, not unless you say that sandpaper feels anything like silk, satin, or velvet...

For the record Godzilla did breathe fire in the American remake kthx :roll

Seriously Godzilla's awful script killed the movie, not the redesigned character. Look at Peter Jackson's King Kong, they completely redesigned King Kong but the film didn't suck.

Yes, they redesigned King Kong. But he had the same FEEL - a giant gorilla. They also made it MUCH closer to the original than the 1970's remake.

And GINO didn't breathe fire - the only time it looked like it, he roared and blew over two taxis - they sparked 9you can see it in slomo), and ignited each others' gas tanks.

You say tomatoe, I say toe-mat-oh....

2005 King Kong did not 'feel' like 1933 King Kong. For starters 1933 King Kong didn't even look like a gorilla + he had no soul. He was just a dumb rampaging monster with no depth.

And you are correct GINO never once felt like an awkward man in an overheating rubber suite.

:tflaugh

As much as I love the classical image of an Autobot or Decepticon (metal boots and all)

I feel as if these designs actually do justice to what really is a ridiculous concept, Extraterrestrial Robot lifeforms that can convert into alternate modes that hind and blend in on earth, who have names that sometimes mimick a personality trait or form. That idea alone leaves the door for what is possible pretty wide open imho.

Oh if the 4th of July '07 would hurry up so I can watch and enjoy this motion picture.

That stupid ass love story killed Godzilla not to mention they made Godzilla kinda wussy running from everone, though the effects were cool. :usa

See, it was the script, not the designs, that killed Godzilla.

Am I the only one who doesn't agree with Jazz being a Solstice? I don't really like how the car looks. It's way too...round-y, for lack of a better term, it's small, and it doesn't look sleek and speedy enough to be an alt. mode for Jazz. It's too Euro-style for me. IMO they could have made a much better choice. Edit: robot mode ain't too bad, but still...vehicle mode...I dunno.

well, I dislike the Pontiac Solstice for many reasons. I also have a hard time seeing Jazz downgraded from a Porsche 935 to a Pontiac.

However, both cars are quite voluptuous (curvy) and consider that his original mold was European after all...

But I agree, he could have been a much better car. (A Toyota Supra comes to mind)
