1. I love the solstice, and had a picture of one hanging in my dorm last fall.

2. I had no idea Jazz was a solstice, as I had been avoiding movie spoiler threads and stuff.

I don't have a problem with Jazz being a Solstice. In fact, I think it's pretty cool they added the roof and altered other things like the headlights & stuff to make it look more like a Porsche.

with any luck it will be the GXP track version only seen in testing...

I like Jazz as a Solstice he looks cool, better than some stupid Rice Burner. :tfgrin

Jazz would look mighty fine as a MAZDA RX-8 thank you very much!

I found a new picture of all the autobots from the movie

Ah! Clones! :eek

Seriously, if the TF's look this alien, I don't think the movie's gonna do anywhere NEAR as well as Dreamworks and Michael Bay hope. Yeah, it might do well its opening weekend, but it will have no staying power in the theaters at all.

they look alien because they are alien.

different planet = different technology.

hey guys it been along time since i last posted and i've been busy.

point 1.

I think that the main devide been G1 'fanboys' and the rest of the fandom, was caused by the origanal understanding (weren't we all given that impression) that this new movie would be G1 minus the its bad points - (idiot acting, toys with little articulation, toys that actually are proportion correctly etc)

obviously its not, bay lied trying to get the G1ers interested and then changed direction, that is why G1ers are up in arms. because they are (insert you choice of phrase) with being used.

epecially by hasbro and takara, and of course this is why the rest of the fandom are up in arms. The rest are feed up of G1 homages, and to alot of people it seems like G1 never ended, so its sort of like Harry potter or godzilla fans. By trying to call it a 'remake' rather that something new they cause a civil war between die hards and general fans.

again its not G1, but i am not going to attack either side, as they both have a valid points here. (as far as i am concerned its bays fault we are argueing)

They should have said immediatly (no connection to any seris). and we would not have the above problem.

point 2. (linked somewhat to point 1)

I think that the reason there has been so much negitivity toward the new designs is that they resemble nothing that has come before, (except in some whys - e.g. names and some body parts) and have no resemble to what most fans recongnise as transformer technology (yes even binal tech and alternators).

we all know that the binal tech (or was it alternators) was cancelled. That seris had designs that probably inspired bays (but they we still blocky in places and the majority of the innerds were disgused and looked solid). What we needed was a band new cartoon to give us a chance to get used to these designs, then a movie so fans (any fans) don't immidiatly say 'what are they supposed to be!'

As a tf i can buy into practically anthing but i think that these designs just come as a shock.

point 3 (last one :tflaugh)

each show has had its bad and good points, and has been somewhat unique (yes they have retold the story at times, but each one has been done in a diffrent way), if the acting is good and the story is good,i may be able to get used to these TFs. But doing what he (bay) has done thus far indicates stupidity not genious.

It is gonna take a good story etc, that will make or brake this film. so with crossed fingers we hope bay gets his head straight.

obviously its not, bay lied trying to get the G1ers interested and then changed direction, that is why G1ers are up in arms. because they are (insert you choice of phrase) with being used.

I think you absolutely nailed it. :clap

It's not so much that this isn't G1 -- to me anyway -- as it is that I felt as if we were led to believe it would be a G1 or G1 flavored movie. I mean, when they pulled a flatnosed red semi into the San Diego Comicon to advertise the movie, what did you expect? And again, adding in clips of the G1 cartoon on MTV when they talked about the movie? The expectation again was for a G1 movie, or at least a G1 inspired movie.

Had they come right out at the beginning and said "Hey, this is gunna be a Transformers movie, but it's going to move in a totally new direction" as opposed to beating the nostalgia drum, I don't think there would have been near the outrage as there has been.
