MP-SS and a word to the wise

Seems a few people are having the same issue that many had with MP-03. Pics are provided in the link.

EDIT: For those who can't go to TFW:

The issue is this, the main joint that the wings use to flip up is easy to break and in some cases comes with stress marks on the white plastic right out of the box. It's the same issue that MP-03 had. Additionally, using Paint Thinner to remove the black paint on the top of the jet compounds the issue since paint thinner breaks down plastic making it weaker.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO REMOVE ANY PAINT ON ANY TF USE ALCOHOL.

Spammer my ass.

Bascically, the "stress mark/broken joint" issue that plagued MP03 is appearing on the USMPSSs as well.

EDIT: Although, upon further review of this particular thread, the guy cleaned his cockpit fire smudges off using paint thinner, which may have contributed to his breakage.

However, I've seen other threads showing the "stress mark" problem where the toy has NOT been cleaned. Bascially, I'm of the opinion that particular joint suffers from a design flaw.

Thanks for the heads up. Luckily I haven't had this problem on either Takara MP SS, MP SW or Hasbro MPSS.

So are paint thinner and rubbing alcohol two different things? 'Cause some of Reprolabels' instructions tell you to use alcohol to to remove existing paint, and I don't want to eff-up a Masterpiece Skywarp.

VERY DIFFERENT. That's why one is Paint Thinner and the other is Rubbing Alcohol. Paint Thinner is a much harsher solvent.

OMG what a retard. :roll Well, there you have it.

*was that retard once... I shredded an Alt Decepticharge after using paint thinner to remove the deco*

when the marks began to show on my SS i tried to work around it by transforming the section with the air break first and left the wings till last. it seemed to work but ive put it back in the box since i cant afford to replace him

...which is probably why a lot of people broke their Starscreams.

INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR PUSSIEShay why did my toys break? :tfsad

the good thing about the broken wing problem (if there can be anything good about it) is that even if they do break it shouldn't really how stable the piece will stay in either mode because of some pretty nifty tabbing. I take this small solice in my poor disabled Greenscream
