*has new appreciation for his Robot Heroes*

Watch out for Prime's head.

Eep! Now I'm urged to check my Starscream, although he was fine when I transformed him the first time. I'm at school so I can't check his wings for stress marks :(

Watch out for Prime's head.

I should have read the instructions. :tfmad

Fortunately no stress marks on mine yet. However, mine has stress marks on the arm piece that's connected to the turbines that form his chest.

So far, so good, but I know what I'm doing next time I'm picking Starscream up off of his display...I'm filing down all the parts that cause friction. He might be looser in spots but at least he won't break.

Screw that. I hate buying multiples of any item, but I will buy a backup of this guy if I have to.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Very light (very very light) stress marks. Not deep enough to cause slight fracture or breakage. However, I did file down some of the hard edges and it's helped some.

If the hinge does break, is there anything we can fashion in it's place to accomplish the same thing? I didn't buy a TransFormer that won't transform...I refuse to sit idly by and wait for doom.

However, after getting Energon Shockblast with stress marks on his waist (where the chest swings up into place for robot mode, right on the hinges) I've come to learn that just because the plastic is stressed, it doesn't guarantee that it will end in breakage.

So...there might be a silver lining after all. Not to mention...Gorilla Glue will hold it from what I'm told.

I got lucky with the greenscream I had. The hinges DID fracture, but only on the top ridge. Turns out it was actually a good thing. The rest of the hinge held strong and the extra crack loosened up the joint enough to move it during transformation without further breakage. I hope that that becomes the case for me when I pick up G1MPSS, but I'm a little weary now seeing how hinges on each side snapped clean off. Makes me little suspicious of that $48.88 price point.

Oh, and I think paint thinner contains petroleum distillates. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's why it eats plastic.

I learned when I first got MP-03, that the easiest way to transform him from jet mode was as previously stated, to start with the air brake, and I do so by opening the air brake enough to be able to grab the metal bar and lightly tug on it 'til the center section comes up, and then everything else, especially the wings, I can transform without any difficulty and have not yet noticed any stress marks.

the us release of MP starscream is of very bad quality platic i bought 2 and when i took the twist ties off his his main wings both broke off. i had the same problem when i bought classics hotrod and deluxe movie bumblebee. even a couple of my alternators broke right out of the box. hasbro needs to stop rushing there transformers like the repaints of alternators rollbar silverstreak and deadend. im a die hard transformers collecter but come repainting alternators deadend into sunstreaker made no sence they both have the same head mold. hasbro needs to start takeing feed back from the real trans fans and take there time in makeing the quality of transformers better.

asside from SS's wing problem, I haven't experienced problems with any of the other toys you mentioned... maybe you're a bit to agressive in taking your toys out of their packaging, or maybe you just have really bad luck
