I agree. I've already seen people threatening to boycott the movie. What the hell. Who cares if Megs is a tank. Today it's easy to see why Bodycount is always cutting into G1 purists....sheesh.

Ha Ha. You're right. It is easy to see why Bodycount cuts into them. He's still a Troll, but right now, I'm kind of disgusted at all the plain, whiny, bitchy, kid like crap....

Fine, let those idiots boycott the movie. Then Dreamworks and Hasbro would lose less than 1% of the moviegoer audience. If they don't modernize it to fit the tastes of the general moviegoing audience, it would surely bomb. The movie is going to be one of the major ways that Transformers will finally be known all over the world (trust me, a lot of people, especially the younger generation in Asia don't know much about TFs because of the lack of TV shows here) and these retards are whining about it simply because Soundwave doesn't turn into a tape deck and Megatron doesn't turn into a gun. It is absolutely pathetic.

Purist fanboys are so pathetic, whining and Starscreaming about little details, and have the delusion to believe that they are the majority. Let's put it this way, if X-Men and Spider-Man had most of their characters wore colorful spandex (only Spidey got away with it thanks to the great costume design, and trust me, if you hated Green Goblin's armor, his spandex goblin costume would suck even more onscreen) and had to limited too much by comic book continuity and rules, it would go the way of crap. Watch Captain America, the old FF movie and that crappy Justice League live action TV movie, to see for yourself. If those fanboys think that they can scare away Murphy from doing their movie, there will be a lot more TFans who will rise up and help him.

Murphy is doing his best to keep to the G1 mythos as close as possible, but the times have changed since then and newer generations of viewers, not to mention older ones who have little interest with the Transformers universe will be watching the movie. He is doing his best to work out a compromise to both appeal to the general fandom and to fit the tastes of moviegoers all over the world, as well as allow Hasbro to develop a toyline for it, and for that I applaud him. If Megs was a tank in 1984, these stupid purists wouldn't have bitched about it, so their line of thinking is laughable.

Thank god, somebody that actually gets it! :eek

:pfx Some change is good. I just hope that in the attempt to appeal to major mainsteam audiences he doesn't make the story focus on human characters and does get good actors for the human SUPPORTING characters. I do NOT want to see actors like Ben Affleck, Vin Deisel or Catherine Zeta Jones turn up in this film, as I can only tolerate Affleck in Kevin Smith films and Diesel and Jones couldn't act their way out of a paper bag if they tried.

And I feel strongly about Peter Cullen and Frank Welker reprising their roles for the film. Or other actors who are talented enough to make me forget about Cullen and Welker for two hours.

As for Megatron being a tank, I say bring it. He should be a death machine on wheels anyway.

As long as the talent is good and the story stays focused on robots in disguise I'll have no problems.

Amen. You're a very wise man.

There is litte in it that I care about:

The focus should be on transformers, less on humans.

Prime would look best as a Truck, but also he's quite easily made into one. Though he might get a 'binaltech' treatment and be changed into a mack or a DAF.

I rather see Megs as a tank, as a gun he's to dependant on others in the first place, not really something for a leader. With some luck they will base him on the War Within designs.

I hope they will not cram the story of G1 from first day of awakening to after Unicron into one movie. (The potential for multiple movies like Spiderman and X-men is just to big.)

You're right. I hope some of these asses do boycott the movie. It's ok, the 5 to 600 of you that don't watch it aren't needed to make the movie succesful. It's the rest of the fandom and the mainstream audience that are needed. I am a huge g1 purist. So he called Megatron lame, yeah for the movie, he would be. A tank would cause a hell of alot more damage than a gun would. Soundwave being a CD player? He didn't say that's what they were definately doing. They may not even use him at all. God, don;t you people read???

Look, give us a good movie Don,not some embarrasment, and I'll be happy. I love G1. I don't want it to be tinkered with, but if it helps getting us a movie I don't have to be ashamed to watch, then for the love of God, do what you must...
