Bumblebee will never be a Beetle, if VW said no for alternators/BT with no media to promote it, then a movie character for worldwide release certainly wont happen

i would not mind sound wave being a triple changer 1 mode is a earth type thing and the other a cybetron mode that looks a lot like his g1 mode

I'm just happy I'm getting a live action TF movie....I don't care about what they transform into, I just want to see my favorite characters on the big screen.

I could NOT agree more. Unfortunately there's still another two years to endure all of this lameness. I, for one, would think that fans would be happy to see that they're wanting to make the movie realistic.

 

And -- can I say it:

 

The original toys/cartoon had some pretty UNrealistic concepts going for it, and let's face it, it's not because they had everything planned out so well. Megatron and Soundwave came from a separate toy line than the Diaclone stuff, and they were never meant to be integrated in the way they were, if you know what I mean.

 

And of course if Megs was a tank I'd be happy. :D :D :D

At this point, the smartest thing is to ignore the fans. This movie is being made for the mainstream public. If anything, Transfans only make up like 10% of that. That's not counting hardcore fans, the fans on the messageboards...that's counting EVERYONE that has been a fan of the shows since the 1980's through today. Us on the messageboards count for like 1% of the total people going to see this movie. Murphy is coming to us to keep the movie on true to the TF mythos, but he can't deliver another G1. What he has to do is make something that everyone will enjoy. People 10-25 are going to be the core audience of this movie, and parents aren't going to want their kids to see a movie where the main character is a gun. Live with it.

 

Furthermore, why cast voice actors that haven't done Transformers work within the last 20 years? To please 1% of their audience? If they didn't case Cullen and Welker, you're still gonna see it, so why waste the money? The better choice would be Chalk and Kaye. Why? They've been doing TF shows for nearly 10 years. The audiences of Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Armada and Energon are still going to be within their core demographics, so why not go with someone the audience is going to recognize?

 

With Dreamworks, we're guarenteed a great movie with a great cast and great effects....so just relax and go with the flow. If Murphy has a question on his boards(like the one about the Transforming sound), then answer it honestly, but don't get bent out of shape when you find out that it's not going to be a G1 remake.

With "G1", do you mean "set in the same universe as either the G1 cartoon, the G1 Marvel comic or the G1 DW comic"? In that case, I'd say the answer is "no".

If you mean "a universe based on the ideas, the characters and the looks of G1 rather than, say, RiD or Energon", the answer will most probably be "yes".

Megatron as a Tank has to be the way to go!

i have to say that G2 Megs is my favorite design for him and Armada is my favorite Figure. But i generally prefer the realistic vehicle styles so G@ version wins.

 

I have a Takara Reissue of the G1 Meg and he wasnt that impressive....

 

Lets give him the size and magnificance he deserves (remember he has to go One on One with giant Mack truck)

 

i do shed a tear at the crisis Soundwave is in....... As much as i love him i cant see him as a tape deck and even pumped up as a boom box or something, having the tapes as CD-discs would be lame..... i dont have an answer but i still want the character (as well as Rumble & Frenzy, LaserBeak, and Ravage) in the movie
