First post! I've been lurking on a few TF forums and decided to delurk here. (I'm on too many forums already.)

 

I've been looking for a thread to contribute to and I'm not the greatest at drawing robots (a shame for an artist who loves Transformers) but this thread intrigued me so I whipped up a sketch.

 

 

I think the easy way to go would have been to give a human Optimus a helmet so I tried for a more creative solution. I kind of gave him a sort of commando look, with a beanie and scarf covering his mouth (wrapped around his neck for bulk), sunglasses, and a fancy, made-up headset. I emulated some of Prime's signature details--the smokestack, the rifle, the wheels on the G1 version (here, it's a canteen and a rope spool) and elements of his boots/feet.

 

Not sure when I'll actually finish this since my vacation officially ends tomorrow.

 

Any comments are appreciated. And I look forward to joining the fun on the rest of the forum.

I LOVE they way you incorporated signature prime parts and looks with humanish objects. It's not a dude in a prime suit, it's a Prime as a dude. Just an awesome idea. Well thought out and executed.

First of all, I merely post the pictures, I do not make them.

 

Second of all, The OP asked for interpretations of Transformers as humans. On all accounts, this fits the bill, even though it is mind-breaking.

All I could ID were Bumblebee and Ratchet.

Just from process of elimination...

Ratchet = Medic = Nurse

Bumblebee = Yellow = yellow fox

New Prime = Flames = trousers, not pants. Get it right you Americans!

Ironhide = Weapon specialist = military

Jazz = cool stuff = glitter girl

Mind you, even though I don't like it, it's anime, so surely someones :drool or the closest I could find: :schin Where's that damn smiley?

 

And yes, Prime-Collector, that is a good pic...

Thats a little contrived...

I sketched a lot of versions of Megatron (mainly his head) but none of them seemed to work. (I couldn't make it work, anyway.) His "helmet" just looked too goofy on a guy. So this last weekend I was screwing around with maybe altering the look of his head a bit, making the flare parts of his helmet part of his shoulders instead. I thought it looked pretty good. As for the rest of him, I sort of went the futuristic route again, making him a bit of a cyborg so his right arm could support such a huge cannon. Then I streamlined him a bit with a kind of bodysuit, like a wetsuit. It's not finished. There will be lots of details on the suit so he doesn't look naked. I haven't worked out his feet yet.

Awesome Man I really like him and if you don't mind if i color Prime and this megatron of megatron after you finish him i would like to do this because i think they deserve some color

 

 

 

so tell me what you think and if you want me to then what colors do you want each part
