The more I look at this pic the more I realise that what is killing it for me is that dang head!! He's got a horribly elongated jaw!!

OH and as far as the toys...yeah they need to be show accurate and transformable. I really don't care for the little PVC non-transforming figures. Although that Robot Heroes Ravage is kinda cute.

I Powerglideing love Prime's face though.

and I would kill to see Tank Megs and Jiaxus.

Stylized transformers that aren't Powerglideing marshmellow formers are a-ok in my book

As a long-time fan of oversimplifying and transformers I can only say:

I LIKE IT.

Let's hope the animation itself is flawless. I'm hoping the toon will show up in the Netherlands and that it's fun. If I want to be educated, I'll read a book. If I want to be entertained, I'll watch cartoons. I never expected anything highbrow to come from a TF cartoon, save for a headmaster.

I kinda like the cartoon Optimus. It's not a style I would have immediately thought of but it could be really fun.

The part I REALLY like is the part in the article mentioning 26 standalone episodes. Hooray for shorter storylines! :clap

Well, if it helps bring in some young fans into the massive TF universe, then I guess the new cartoon can't be all bad. Ok, not a big fan of Prime's design atm, but hopefully that will change once we see him on motion. But if that turns out to be a bit of a dud, I will just have to sit tight until TF: Redemption pt 2!!

Damn, as much as I hate it, I still like it better than most of the movie designs.

As more as I look at he design, it keeps reminding of the Samurai Jack cartoon look. Although I love Samurai Jack cartoon, I don't know how that style will do for the TF's, especially for the toy department. If it follows Samurai Jack format and type of wrtting, I am sure we will be pleased story wise and action. But as a collector of TF's my main concern are how the toys will look for this show.

I'm not too overly disappointed with it. Having designed many animated series proposals and promotional sheets you will find that images you use aren't totally representative of the overall. It usually comes down to the lead designer of the animation loving one image and you being forced to use it.

Everything that people bitched about with the movie, 'they aren't blocky enough' 'Primes got flames' 'it isn't g1' etc seems to have been rectified in this as we have seen so far, but now we've got a whole new bitchin angle, 'Primes face is too big' 'It shows movement too much' other than this one image we have seen little else, stop bein so damn over dramatic!

EXTREME!

EXTREME!

*this post is a rant and adds nothing be warned*

i knew when i seen who the crew behind this show it was going to be very stylised... but theirs style and then theirs Blot this is the later but strangely he reminds me of star convoy only with BM primals jaw line

*this part might actually add something to this topic*

i think the problem is their are not many good drafts men out their in the US cartoon industry who can also animate will or rather their are not many animators who can grasp scale and perspective that well. now im not saying their are not any but... it seems clear that doing this stylised stuff is cheap and easy to do
