Hey, this looks pretty cool. I can't wait to see how all the other characters look. I'm so excited!

It's an interesting take, I'll give it that. I loved Samurai Jack and Clone Wars, and Teen Titans was good when it wasn't 22 minutes of slapstick and a forced attempt to imitate Japanese animation cliches. I'm optimistic (LOL, get it? I so clevar) that this could work, but I need to reserve full judgment until I've seen more robots and some animation examples/prototypes.

I said it on other boards and I might as well say it here... Holly Crap this looks terrible :inheek

The elephant Prime. Whoever developed the movie images, decided on an asthetic I did not appreciate, whoever drew that should not be allowed to draw. Their fingers should be broken for the good of all of humanity. This image of Prime would make all TFs less cool if it was drawn by a kindergardener and thrown away by a spiteful parent, the publishing of this image on the net is a crime against humanity. Who's making this show? Wasn't Ewe Bowl or Roger Corman available? Who's lame ass re-re nephew drew that? Don't they think kids have eyes? The movie designs were a sack of sh-t on my porch. This is diarrhea in my mouth.

How about you STFU and back the Powerglide off. Wanting to have physical harm come to a person for doing there job and working on a KIDS' CARTOON is about as low as it gets. So stop being a douchebag and STFU and move on, ignore it if you don't like it. And if you think kids won't like this, you might want to look at what kids watch these days that's popular.

It's one (1) picture from an animated series. And, as has been pointed out, it's not even a good pose for judging the figure. You can't tell how fluidly it will be animated, how the characters interact, how good (or bad) the storylines are, or any of the other really important things from one picture of a character no matter how hard you try.

Damn Right. You can't tell how much effort or work goes into this show at this glance.

Now - this is exactly what I said it would look like when we originally heard about it = Transformers in a stylized, almost Clone Wars style. This isn't exactly what I was hoping for, but I like it. Yes, I like it. And some of you douchensteins should STFU. Until you've worked in animation (and yes I have - for a studio under Cartoon Network in fact) you don't know how hard animation is, nor do you have any real idea how this will fully look until you see the pilot episode. You can all hate it all you want to since that is your right, but makes no difference. Maybe some of you guys should step back from your 20-40 year old fanboy bubbles and realize this is for kids, not you guys. They went with what was obviously a popular animated style choice. They did marketing and research, otherwise they wouldn't have thrown money out for this to be done. Cartoon Network is VERY picky about what tehy will take chances on, whether you believe this or not. I've seen some really awesome story and animation ideas that were pitched to CN, but because they weren't soemthing that kids would show a lot of interest to, they weren't produced. You guy don't know how this industry works a lot of the time. They went with this because it could possibly be a big seller for them.

Now once again, you guys have the right to hate it, totally. And I can honestly understand the dislike. But stop being whiny Powerglideing fanboys who go off the deep end over a freaking children's cartoon when it will probably be just like RID, A/E/C, and others - just a blip on the overall TF Franchise radar. In otherwords, another version of TFs before the next big thing in this fandom/franchise.

Boy I wish I was a MATURE toy collector like you and could tell all of us "douchbags" to "Powerglide off" over a cartoon.

Not being able to tell that someone is expressing their dislike in a humorous way as opposed to really wanting to break some ones fingers is a "low" and stupid as it gets. You're just a "whiny Powerglideing fanboy" in reverse. Don't want to here TF fans opinions? What the Powerglide do you come to a TF board for?

We only have one image and that image is a piece of Blot. That’s my opinion. Not only am I allowed to feel that way, I'm allowed to say so. Twice in there you say I have the right to hate it, but not to say so. Who are you the fanboy secret police?

:tflaugh Way to be mature about it

Well, it *is* about what you'd expect for an argument over a cartoon.

Except for the "we're adults" part.

(notice I never jumped up and said those who dislike it should not speak against it, nor did I say people who dislike it should completely STFU over it), I said stop being a whiny fanboy who goes off the deep end, such as calling the artists behind this show a "re-re nephew". I was specifically talking to those individuals who act like this is an attack on all they love of Transformers. Such as you came off being.
Really?

And some of you douchensteins should STFU.

And so who are the douchenstiens? and I thought you didn't tell them to STFU?

Gee sorry you took peoples opinions so hard. Yeah I can't stand this style of art. I don't find it innovative. I don't find it Cutting edge. IF these illustrators were real artists then they would have learned how to take criticism a long time go. I, as an artist myself, can attest to this. We had weekly peer critiques on a weekly basis designed to teach us to take criticism and to criticize. I have had to sit through many scathing criticisms of my artwork. Some constructive and some not so constructive. If you yourself are an artist who have worked under cartoon network before, then you should know that your not going to please everybody all the time and that your gonna take some heat for it at times. Get over it. If you like it then that's all that really matters. Why does it matter to you what the rest of us think anyways? Going online and calling people names and telling people to STFU tells me that perhaps you should work on the whole criticism thing. And I say that in all seriousness. I'm not trying to take a shot at you.

I for one can't stand the head on that prime. He looks like friggin droopy dog. Whatever artist thought that looks good really needs to do a little more work. I mean at least erase like the bottom third of his chin and that would probably fix it. The rest of his body is just....bland. OH and for the record yes G1 wasn't much better as far as detail is concerned. But at least Primes head didn't look like droopy dog. I think perhaps the animation would be much better if CN would hire say...the IDW guys. Now there is some transformer animation!

I for one think that if Hasbro and Cartoon network really wanted to do something innovative, they hit about as FAR AWAY from the target as they could. I mean it looks like just about every other show on the network. One thing that Hasbro and CN need to understand that a franchise like Transformers is going to draw a target audience that is NOT strictly children. I would say that as far as merchandising most of their toys are being bought by adult fans. I never see kids looking at the figures in the stores. I only ever see adults looking at them and purchasing them. Are they buying them for their kids? Possibly. I will also say that I am a school teacher as well. I have several of my figures on display in my classroom (I'm an art teacher so i can get away with it) I see 900+ students 1st through 6th. I've had 1 student in the whole school even ask me about them OR even know what they were! Obviously CN's supposed target audience are not kids, even if they are trying to hit that target. Perhaps this new show will change that. I don't know. The only cartoons on CN I hear the kids talking about are Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, and Ben 10. Never hear then discuss Transformers at all. Now if the story is on par with say the old Batman or Superman series that started this whole style of art, then perhaps it will be good. Those stories were deffinately written with a more adult audience in mind.

OH and as far as Fanboys needing to get over it. I don't think there is anything wrong with fans voicing their opinons. Some of those opinions my actually make things better. At least we arn't sending them our collections saying "We will enver collect again" like say...the "Jericho" fans sending the network tons and tons of nuts in protest to the network taking the show off the air. OH and that tactic did work. It'll be back next season.

ANyways just get over it. The sooner you realize that people arn't always going to have the same opinion as you the sooner your life on these boards will be less stressful. And the sooner we'll have some constructive posts WITHOUT name calling and nasty language.

Wich brings up a question in my mind...there is a CoC on these boards right? I mean who are the mods and are they keeping an eye on the rudeness and the baiting/trolling? Just curious

hey look, a penny

By the way Pete...The last bit of my post wasn't an insinuation that your not doing your job. I was just curious. I would never make insinuations about a fellow Texan :thumb

First true "LOL" of the day! :lol

Once again - I'll say it - I'm not telling you or NATO or 1987olds442 or anyone else who said their opinions in a good way or who was critical of it in a more constructive way to not express your/their dislike. I'm not telling anyone to never voice their opinion. I'm saying that those that feel/act like this is a slight against their fandom or that they wish bodily harm or name calling a person for working on a cartoon like it will ruin/be the end of their fandom/franchise needs to probably shut up and re-think this. This is just another part (a stepping stone if you will) of our fandom/franchise, it's not the total ruining of it. Just like the movie isn't either. Take that how you will.

Congratz on being a teacher and dealing with criticism, but I'd hardly call some of the negative comments even remotely constructive.
