Review - Transformers Movie Deluxe Jazz

Recommended Posts

an improvement, maybe. they do have very realistic alt modes and pretty complex transformations, but they do have their share of problems. such as the lines in alt mode (they sorta look like a jigsaw puzzle), the automorph gimmick seems to be hampering a bit of articulation that would more than likely exist had it not been for the gimmick. on top of that you have the super realistic alt modes that once again hamper the detail in bot mode as well as the articulation.

they are pretty different and revolutionary, yes, but they're not vastly superior to their predecessors. they are great toys though.

What's all this about Voyager molds for Bumblebee and Jazz. I haven't heard anything about that. If they do that, it would really throw a wrench into the fact that they've already assigned specific heights for the movie robots (sans Starscream being taller than Prime in the movie vs the toys since Prime is the leader but tallest of the Autobots). I know Jazz is the shortest of the Autobots. And I think with the deluxe class figures, he seems to be pulling that off nicely. He's a tad shorter than Protoform Prime.

The only ones I truly understand upsizing are Bonecrusher and Starscream to be more in accordance with the film.

Upsizing a mold has to do with character popularity and how many units do they think they can sell at $20 as opposed to $10.

It has nothing to do with "to-scale".... when have Transformer TOYS ever been to scale?

Unless you are going to argue that most Abrams tanks and Mine-sweepers are the same size as your average camero....

I don't see how he's supposed to be "Camshaft gray" -- he isn't. Nor is he beige under the right light... He's a nice metallic gray.

I haven't put them right next to each other, but I'm pretty sure that Camshaft and Jazz are pretty much the same shade of metallic grey.

I should have mentioned that I've never seen Camshaft in person. He just looks like he's got a flat gray auto body in pictures and stuff.

I was the one who compared it to Camshaft in the first place. I have Camshaft, but haven't seen Jazz in person. Camshaft has a little metallic flake to it (it's not primer grey), but it's still pretty dull. Jazz looks to be the same color. It doesn't matter anyway, since I'll be getting the Revoltech now instead of this.

Also has a Camshaft kicking around.

Camshaft's pretty dark, & even with the metalic flake still looks like primer.

Jazz I think is supposed to be silver therefore as a plastic toy would be a lighter grey. Still dull but for a toy what would you expect.

Plans now on buying both the deluxe & replica molds. Deluxe for a suitable alt mode & replica for a much better bot mode. :thumb

I don't know. All I know is this guy was misled in whatever he heard, but there are no plans to make Voyager molds of Bumblebee and Jazz. I think he was misled in the fact that Prime and Megatron both have DLX/Voyager/Leader Class molds.

In all of this, I forgot to put in my 2 cents about my opinion of Jazz. I love him. I just wish his arm articulation was a little better than it is.

I just saw some more pics of jazz on bwtf.com, wow his arms are just made of the hood panels, thats it?

Not exactly my taste for a transformer, but then again I'm pretty damn picky about my robots, lol.

Pretty sure this whole color matching thing comes down to some of us looking at our Alt Camshafts, and some of us looking at our Omnibots.

Hell, I'm mildly colorblind and I'm fairly sure those two aren't the same shade of grey.

Are they?

I'm pretty sure they are.

And judging from you avatar, you're more then a bit colourblind. It makes my eyes bleed.

Try looking at siburke's new avatar and sig. i feel like i've been brainwashed.

No mommy! not the trolls!!
