Review - Transformers Movie Deluxe Jazz

Recommended Posts

hinge piece? the little over hang clip thingy? it's to attach the gun to the spoiler in vehicle mode.

no, right in front of that is a piece with a hole in it, and it clips into the hinge on the trunk.

If I had my digi-cam I'd take a picture.

ah! just grabbed mine and i see what your talking about... never noticed that before, kinda stupid if you ask me, *shrugs*

Someone early-on in this topic mentioned a G1 color scheme ..... is that a fact, rumor, or wishful thinking?

That was me, and it was an assumption based on the fact we've already seen G1-stye SS and Ratchet. It stands to reason they would also give us a white Jazz and red Ironhide. The problem is, the G1 redecos so far have been eye-bleedingly gaudy. Jazz would look good in solid white, maybe with some racing stripes, but knowing Hasbro they'll probably slap a big G2 "4" on his hood cover the thing in rainbow polka dots.

Yeah

G1 redecos should work pretty well for Jazz and Ironhide as long as they're done right...which so far hasn't been the case.

Although, if the G1 decos for Ironhide and Jazz end up like the previous ones we've seen for the movie figs, I won't be bummed - I already like their original colorschemes.

i posted this in the action pose thread but didnt find out about this thread until now so i should post my thoughts here instead:

despite blitzwing's somewhat negative review, i took the chance and bought him anyways and i must say that i did not regret buying him and the articulation is just as good, if not better than most classic deluxes (except mirage obviously), and other than the somewhat lame (but acceptable) forearms i must say that i have to disgree with blitzwing's review on the toy (i guess he didn't try hard enough to pose him?). but all things considered, it's pretty impressive for a deluxe class toy and its price point

btw, this is about as far as how far the legs can go...

but dude...how can you call the toy's articulation terrible if the toy can pose like that especially for his legs? it has prolly just as many, if not more, articulation points on the legs than most classics deluxes and almost on par with prime. although i can agree that knee articulation does not go a full 90 degrees (i think it could have helped if we can at least spread the doors out a slight bit like classics rodimus' thighs) but classics rodimus or bumblebee do not go a full 90 degrees either (althogh close). shoulder articulation is just like alt mirage. elbows can only go up about 60 degrees from vertical but since it's a double hinge you can cheat with rotating the shoulder (wheel) part if needed to

my only compaints regarding the toy (other than the forearms) is that i personally do not like the fake wheels on the legs but that's only because of the kibble in alt mode when viewed from the back of the vehicle (the fake wheels could have been molded as part of the ankle joint if you ask me), and i wish the hood pieces that form the forearms have some sort of pegs to hold them together so they dont get moved around easily

so all in all, i think the toy deserves a bit more merit than the 3/5 stars blitzwing gave, given that he's a deluxe class figure. i personally would give it a 4. it's obviously not perfect, but above my expectations. you just need to play around and take advantage of all of his joints if you want him to do some nice poses

Suposivly there is another version of jazz (battle damage) which I hope fixes alot of these issues. The forearms literally made not want the toy period. Arms and hands are the most important and noticeable element on the bots and this one got short changed.
