I seem to recall an interview that hinted that the Titanium series will be where CLASSICS continue.

 

And I count Rodimus Prime, Soundwave, Scourge and Ultra Magnus, personally.

 

Prowl is supposed to be getting a Titanium G1-ish treatment.

 

Titanium is basically Classics, RiD, Beast Wars and War Within.

 

And if you haven't noticed, the Titanium packaging has adopted the individual line logos.

 

Technically, Rodimus and Soundwave were released as G1 but with the classics logo. And I don't think Hasbro proper ever distinguished between Classics and G1 except as an inventory ID thing.

 

I have a suspicion that the discussed Classics Sideswipe, Arcee and Cosmos will wind up in Titanium form if the line does well and the movie amps up interest.

 

But I hate the Titaniums. :tdown I like Plastic, thanks. :thumb

I'm sort of in the same boat there. I have a couple Titaniums because they are my favorite characters, but most of the Titaniums don't look or function that great...

Titaniums are definitely for display only. The only reason we have them at all is because of Hasbro's new trend of making entire toy lines based on multiple properties, i.e. Galactic/Robot/Super Heroes, Titanium, Attacktix, Mr. Potato Head, and Unleashed. I wouldn't place them anywhere near Classics in terms of value for the price. As for Titanium being the future of the Classics line, not really. G1 Soundwave was reissued in Classics packaging and given the Titanium treatment at the same time, and the other G1 bots we've seen in Titanium have been straight G1 models- the Classics line is/was all about taking the G1 designs and updating them.

For now I'm sure. But I would be damn surprised if it was done for good. Come this fall I bet we see more, when the movie stuff dries up.

Because they hate people that hate the movie. I don't blame them, since the movie isn't even out yet. The movie figures kick the crap out of Armada/Energon/Cybertron in my opinion (with some exceptions of course).

Why continue a good line? Even with all repaints? When they can bend us over at botcon. Leving plenty of room for more Movie scorpinok pegwarmers.

I'd love to get that Dirge, but since botcon is nowhere near me this and I doubt I'll be able to afford an eBay special, no way.

 

 

I'd love for the line to continue- Thrust, Soundwave, Shockwave, and maybe a version of Blitzwing would be easy decepts to do. I'd most like an update to Brawn, Hound, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are no-brainers. Maybe Huffer too.

But yeah, I want ONLY Thundercracker out of the Botcon set. Finishing my original seekers set is fine. There are enough Ramjets in the world where I don't care if I just get a fan repaint.
