My girlfriend's ex works for Hasbro. They're still friends and I had her ask him, and he said "No."

Classics are done.

Except for the BotCon set, obviously.

For now I'm sure. But I would be damn surprised if it was done for good. Come this fall I bet we see more, when the movie stuff dries up.

There's a new cartoon show debuting in the fall, with a new main line to go with it. That'll be the priority, along with some late holiday season movie stuff. RIP Classics.

I'm starting to wish Classics had never been released in the first place...

I resigned myself to the fact that Classics would never give me a full G1 (G1 Movie at least) line. I held high hopes for the Seekers to be completed... but I won't get into that!

What I've done instead is taken TF's from other similar lines (Armada/Energon/Cybertron/Classic) & made my own "Classics" line. I used Energon-Downshift as G1-Wheeljack, Cybertron-Runamuck as G1-Runamuck & so-on.

I'll knock-up a thread soon to try & get some more ideas as "Classic-fillers" to use. They look pretty cool all together on their shelf so I'm not too bummed about Classics being so short-lived. The way I see it is - even though the Classic line may be dead, Hasbro will ALWAYS be churning-out G1 homages! :P

I'm actually pretty satisfied with the Classics Line. The only thing that kind of miffed me was when they brought out that Devastator and all those weird minicons. I suppose they wouldn't be so bad if -again- there was any minicon ports for them to sit on.. but heaven forbid having my classics Jetfire covered in little cars and animals like he was some kind of flying refridgerator. :tflaugh

i have purchased many hommage toys. Energon downshift is my classics wheeljack. cybertron smokescreen is classics smokescreen, cybertron blurr is classics blurr and titanium scourge is classics scourge.

I want my Classics Prowl :(

But yeah, I want ONLY Thundercracker out of the Botcon set. Finishing my original seekers set is fine. There are enough Ramjets in the world where I don't care if I just get a fan repaint.

Yeah, forgot to mention the Thundercracker. Him and Dirge from the botcon set I'd buy if they were normal price in say, Target.

i could go on for pages about what id like to see from the classics but my only gripes are the fact the botcon set makes its really hard to complete any of the seekers and i would have realy liked to have seen more decepticons (maybe this is why the botcon set is all cons aswell) also blitz wing and octane would have ruled

Amen. I forgot to mention Octane. But yeah, I basically would have bought any Deluxe/Voyager (some leader) Classics they would have pumped out.

The botcon set makes me cry and want to throw stuff. 5 Exclusive Transformers that are extremely overpriced to begin with? Just wait till Ebay sees them...

Yeah. Makes me sad they did them there. I'd have been all over Thundercracker, Dirge and Thrust.

Plus Bugbite might be fun, if it's what I think it is- the Classics Bumblebee repainted white and purple. However I fully see why THAT would be an expensive exclusive of a convention, just like the BugBite based on the original Bumble.

FYI, Prowl & Shockwave have been rumored for the 6" Titanium line, whether it's G1 or War Within Prowl is up for anyone's guess though. But certain aesthetics aside, the 6" Titanium line does fit in well with the Classics for the most part.
