If G1 returns, I'll stop collecting.

I HATE G1, and so do alot of other fans here. The only ones who keep whining about it are you newbs who just showed up out of the blue so you could Starscream about everything. Its not about what YOU want. Hasbro isn't going to abandon the brand that kids are familiar with, which is why they made it in the first place. And whoever up there said we'd have realistic alt modes again with G1 was wrong in every way possible. That has nothing to do with G1. Stick around and stop acting all elitist because you're old and recall old TF toys, maybe you'll learn something about the process that goes into each series and why we don't have "realistic alt mode" cars anymore in the main line. For one, THEY'RE BORING. You don't want to bore kids to death, give them space ships and firing missiles, not collector cars. It's just the newbie point of view alone that shows me how most of you are in the wrong fandom, always Starscreaming about crap you dont have and completely ignoring the awesome stuff that you already have been given. Why do you think Archer doesn't take the fat nerd fanbase seriously? You hate everything he does and if not for him, Transformers wouldn't be here right now. I love some of you guys on here, but I HATE THIS FANDOM.

look, this is a fan discussion board. people come here to express their thoughts and opinions. you don't always have to agree with the them, just respect them.

 

i got news for you, in a way g1 has already returned, they're called alternators! the bot forms were inspired by the g1 bots and real cars. now i don't know about you but MOST people think they are the best tf's ever released! i'm one of them.

 

i've been around since the stoneage of tranfandom, and to a certain extent i still like g1 above all others. i also like the current releases almost as much as the g1, in some ways more. sure some of them leave a lot to be desired, and people need to come to terms that. not everything will be perfect. take what you want leave the rest is a good policy to adhere to.

 

more than the toys themselves i think most fans are just frustrated at the lousy cartoons they create. yes they're for kids we know, but really, must we treat our kids like a bunch of morons by dumbing down the cartoons to the level they have?

 

by the way how does someone who's been collecting for 20 years qualify as a newbie? :tfhuh

 

i'll accept that some people need to relax a bit and remember that tf's are not earthly beings. they're from another planet so in some cases that will be evident in their alt forms. not every alt form has to be an earthly looking vehicle. that WOULD be less realistic not more. but at the same time bodycount, you have to relax too and and stop burining bridges. that doesn't do anybody any good.

 

with that said i think hasbro and takara are doing their best to try and appeal to the older collectors as much as they can without losing their intended crowd, which is the kids.

 

if tf's could transform themselves, walk, talk, and fight battles with each other on your desktop by themselves for your amusement then people would still find something to complain about...."it's no fun if they do everything by themselves"! the point i'm trying to make is no transformer they ever make will EVER satisfy 100% of the collecting population. there will always be those who find something to complain about. instead of getting bent out of shape about it just realize one thing...it's their loss not yours! :wave

I hope that the Cybertron series is another advancement in not only the toyline, but also in the story. Energon was a vast improvement to Armada, so by the time the Cybertron series gets here let's hope that the story for this one will be stellar. I hope that since Armada did well and Energon is doing well (so far) that they will shell out the money to get some great writers and additional voice actors for the upcoming series.

 

When I hear the word Cybertron used in the title to the next series, I do have to wonder: Will the series main focus be on the Autobot/Decepticon struggle to take Cybertron? Will Unicron finally be truly defeated and out of the picture? Will the humans be out of the picture as well? I hope that these are elements of the storyline, as the whole Unicron thing will be very old by the end of Energon. Also, I hope they give Prime a kickass design.

i friggin hope it has something to do with bringing the alternator's story to light in the us. need more alternators...so good. who knows, next year's line could be promoting the upcoming movie. it is hasbro, they will want their money. i mean, if hasbro wants kids to see their movie, assuming they're shooting for a pg-13 rating(most films do), they're gonna need to introduce a more g1 influence. but all is left to be seen. *wishful thinking* maybe an american robotmasters line? :thumb

I've seen you post the same, baseless, and lame argument in almost every thread you post in. Everyone on this board has a right to have an opinion. You might want to check what country you're living in, it's called America. Then you go ahead and make the assumption that everyone who "Protectobots" only has the old stuff, and not the new stuff. That's a really sad assumption. The re-issues cost more than the new stuff, so don't be upset becuase you're poor and live on welfare and can't afford them. (see? I can make assumptions too!!)

The re-issues show that Hasbro knows that there is a huge market for the older lines of TF, G1 to be exact. Otherwise, they wouldn't be putting them out. They would not have licensed the comics, showcasing G1. That goes for Takara also. So maybe you SHOULD stop collecting now.

 

If it weren't for the OLD NEWBS, which make a lot of sense you cretin, then the new stuff would not be here. Most of the OLD NEWBS supported TF's during the G1, G2, and Beast Wars/Machines eras. You wouldn't have any of this stuff today had the line not been succesful 20 years ago. Hasbro knows that the collectors market is huge. They are the older ones with kids, that buy the stuff either for them, or for themselves. They're the ones with the MONEY. I've never seen a 10 year old with a full time job just to buy TF's. It's the parents and adults that buy, not the kids themselves. Maybe you need to learn something about how marketing and this economy works.

 

Which brings me to my next point, if you know so much about how a line is put together, why don't you enlighten us? Show us that you're better and edify us ignorant OLD NEWBs? Wouldn't that make more sense than trying to shut down peoples opinions? That sure does sound elitist to me.....

 

I sincerely hope that the next line is all earth based vehicles on Cybertron. Ultra-realistic, just so 1: it will completely piss you off 2:you WILL stop collecting and leave 3: Us OLD NEWBS can be happy and then start complaining about arthritis and our broken hips!

I hope we get a back story with the mini cons. More about Unicron I hate that he is just seen as this ultimate evil that wants to eat metal planets. Once he eats everything then what does he do? Never understood that concept. I wanna see the Depticons have a backstory not just them fighting among each other for power.

Just curious Bodycount, if you hate G1 so much, why do you have the figures that I saw in your collection???
