What was the topic again?

the new TF:Cybertron series and speculation on what it might be about. I think it will most likely go back to Cybertron and include alot of Cybertronian Alt modes. It would be great if we got some of the War Within modes. I personally feel the Armada and Energon Alt modes leave alot to be desired.

 

I doubt we'll get G1 style modes, or anything based on real world vehicles. If it was called TF:Earth, then...maybe.....

I remember the last time a whole transformer toy line was based solely on the world of Cybertron

 

Rodimus replaced Optimus

 

the toys got really bright and colorful

 

hell the vehicals didn't even resemble anything that one could identify with

 

"oh so thats the cockpit!"

 

And before long the line died and was resurrected by the ..........

Maybe they should have Transformers Victory as the premise or something close to it.

 

Maybe it will branch off into a "new generation."

 

Rodimus will take over leadership, Galvatron will remain in charge, and many new forms and teams will develop.

 

Look, if it is 1988 all over again - I'll be happy, and deep down, many TF fans of G1 will be happy too.

Not that I bothered to read all of the posts in this thread before posting (don't you love it when people do that??), but I personally hope that Primus / Cybertron shows up in the next series.

 

BTW you have to wonder how much further they can take this storyline. In the press release it was like, "the whole universe is at stake...!!" bla bla bla. I mean, where do you go from there? I think Skullfire's right -- we're gonna see the return of the Pretenders next. Of course, if they keep farming the show out to Japan, all of the robots would have to shout, "PRETEND!!" before leaping out of their shells.

Just curious Bodycount, if you hate G1 so much, why do you have the figures that I saw in your collection???

Someone who hates G1 so much shouldn't be allowed to own ANY of those classic G1 figures, especially Shockwave, Wheeljack, Trailbreaker and what looks like Mirage (blurry pic). If I had an icon for it, you would find two middle fingers in your face.

 

BTW, I think that all of the TF lines since G1 have great things going for them, especially Energon. So there. And I've been a fan since they came out back in '83-'84.

 

Sorry about the rant, now back to the topic.

Cybertron is a continuation of the Armadaverse first of all so its a trilogy.

 

I used to think damn I want earth vehicles, especially after CarRobots but at certain levels Bodycount is right.

This is a kid trageted line and kids want scifi and they want the Superhero to save not just the planet but the entire Universe.

 

I like scifi just as much as the realistic stuff and Energon really hit my sweet spot with a nice blend. Even if the cybertron figures dont improve and stay at energons level, Ill be happy. Im nutz for the CarRobot level of transforming and detail but I guess not every line can be the same.

 

As long as a character that looks like Optimus is in it Ill be a happy camper!!! Im not so much a robot fan or anything like its more like Im an Optimus fan so the minute he is out of the picture I fear I may not be happy with the direction they take again like I did when Rodimus came into the picture so long ago which is what made me lose interest in the first place.

The Cybertron line can be a great way to use some of the cool War Within versions of our favorite characters. Not G1, just inspired by Dreamwave's WW designs, like E-Starscream.
