Transformers Cybertron

The problem is balance: Comic relief only works when there is something to RELIEVE, as previously mentioned.

my opinion is that all versions of Transformers are in total, the story of a war. As such, it should be treated as one. To use MASH as a loose example (very loose), the show was zany, but had it's serious moments. It was good because it had the proper balance. Another more fitting example is Macross(Robotech to those unfamiliar with japanime.). it had it's lighthearted moments, but also had it's darker aspects as well.

All I'm saying is, they need to strike a balance between the two, in order to give Transformers a good balanced overall story. It wouldn't be perfect at first, but nothing is. Just my opinion.

(BTW: until he posts again, could we please not mention Bodycount? His name alone is enough to distract us from the conversation at hand. And i for one would rather not even mention him. )

Sorry JK, I know you said not to, but I'm going to put in my 2 cents.

Bodycount, while I think that too many people want everything to be G1, I can see where they're coming from. You can't take things so aggresively, this is a board of opinions. I myself want to see a story from the Beast Era which is what I grew up with. I easily see how it seems too many people want everything to be G1 but I see where they're coming from. I personally wouldn't mind a Binaltech/Alternators line based off the Beast Wars or even Beast Machines series. So that's that, lighten up and can we all just get along?

Now, for my 2 cents on the show. If I remember correctly the press release said that it would remind us that Transformers are truly "Robots in Disguise". That scares me actually. What if it's some kind of sequel to Robots in Disguise? I would like to see figures on that scale but not a storyline.

Something I would like is a Beast Machines continuation, as I am also probably one of the few fans that loved that series.

Well that's my 2 cents.

I would imagine that the focus would be more on the concept of disguise, rather than a specific link to the TF series of that name. IMO they only called it "Robots in Disguise" b/c the show was harkening back to the TFs' G1 roots (earth-style vehicles and what not) and b/c they wanted to make it clear from a marketing standpoint that this wasn't going to be "MORE Beast Machines!!" (The TF brand was pretty much run into the ground by the end of BM.)

Plus, did RiD even *have* a storyline...??

Could "Transformers: Cyberton" be based off the Takara Robotmasters line? Maybe? Probably not. I'll be quiet. :tfhuh

Possibly. This, and Ra88's comments seem the most likely so far.

Superlink is almost done in Japan and that means Energon will too here in the U.S.

Transformers Cybertron is the next installment. I'm thinking that maybe Optimus Prime dies and in TF Cybertron, Rodimus Prime becomes the new Cybertron Commander of the Autobots. As for Galvatron, Mirage, Demolisher, Snowcat, the Terrorcons, and Bruticus, something bad has to ultimately happen to them. I think in the end, Mega Zarak will be go back to being good. There's a picture I saw of Energon Omega Prime versus Energon Unicron. I think Energon Unicron reduces his actual size so that he can fight Prime rather than it being the other way around where once Prime powerlinks with Omega Supreme, all of a sudden, Omega Prime's size is increased to that of Unicron's. As for Alpha Q, I heard a rumor long ago that it is actually a girl who's planet was destroyed. Hey, maybe Optimus Prime is actually a boy! LOL

In Transformers Cybertron, I hope to see entirely new toy molds. I hope this time around the show takes place in Planet Cybertron and we get to see stuff never seen before like transformers drinking oil at clubs, making out, dancing, commuting, etc. I wonder what will be the new gimmick in the new show. In Armada, it was the Mini-Cons. In Energon, it's the Energy Weapons. Anyway, I also hope that the quality of the show retains a similarity to Energon because quite frankly I can't stand Transformers cartoons anymore. They simply suck and the art is always mediocre and changes from shot to shot. Of course it's not going to be perfect and flawless but I know when I see cheap art, rushed art, and most of all last-minute artwork.

What I really hope to see in TF Cybertron is a Mini-Con base as a toy at the same price range of Omega Supreme and Energon Unicron. Most of all, I hope there are no more exclusives as I hate them very much since most come from Wal-Mart stores (an unexistent structure here in the landscape of the infamous New York City) and I hate online stores cause they charge thrice the price. Of course there are exceptions.

Most of all, I seriously want action and few comic relief. Oh and a good plot not like Armada where you have a loophole in the episode with that holographic girl. Her people had utilized the Star Saber and the Skyboom Shield. So how come once those Mini-Cons had awoken, the Mini-Con signal wasn't sent to Cybertron?

Anyway, if any of you want to discuss that, feel free to e-mail me. I'm always up to speech and debate and I love having a good time arguing.

:wave

there will be more minicons toys in it remolds repaints new molds

That's a page full of misinformation....

Hasbro will never feature a Transformers series without Optimus and Megatron

It's possible they could do what they did with Energon in reverse. Optimus is either believed to dead or incapcitated, with Rodimus leading for awhile. And then the bring him back like the did with Megatron. Archer once said he liked that idea.

I think the current gimmicks will carry over, except for maybe not the Energon weapons. Since the emphasis in the show will probably not be about obtaining Energon again, we probably won't see Omnicons. I can see them carrying the PL gimmick to be backwards compatable with Energon toys as well. Expect more minicon ports on toys as well.

from what i've read they said at the otfcc that the minicons will be back in cybertron. the only reason why they were for the most part left out of energon was because they underestimated their popularity.

for those hoping for a different kind of show, i don't really expect it to be that much different than armada and energon.
