Movie Megatron Head Not Like Leaked Pic

Recommended Posts

:thumb Great pic, tentagil. You forgot Go-Bot and Hero Megs from G2, and I guess technically all the Galvatrons, but it's a fine sample of the major Megatron representations.

And, to me, I can see a sort of evolution happening from left-to-right in the first row, as well as in the second. But by the time you get to that second row, trying to compare any of them to the original Megs is futile. They're too different at that point.

The third row down could be five completely different characters, easily.

And, clearly the bottom row are G1 homages. But I don't see any overriding style or design aesthetic beyond the normal humanoid eyes, nose, mouth, and sometimes a helmet. But lots of Transformers have human-like faces and helmet-ty designs. That doesn't mean they look like Megatron.

He just looks so sad...

The Iconography to me BM is in the character value more so than the physical character itself.

Optimus Prime: Strong leader, biggest car in the lot. Willing to sacrifice himself for the greatest good.

Megatron: The ultimate villain for the ultimate leader; has a grand plan. wants to find a means to an end. even at the destruction of another world.

Starscream: the impatient second in command. The want-to-lead without example, willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants before the plan.

To me the movie just has to hit these points about the character more so than what they look like. We've seen Fire Engines and called them Optimus. Just because its not the way someone wants it to look doesn't mean its not the character of Prime we all want to see.

With Megatron its just pointless namecalling and bigotry for an idea of something more sinister, alien and deadly to be the counter to that unrecognizable leader. Same with the more Alien looking Screamer.

:tfdance

well put.

oh and RM Megs looks like he dropped his Icecream

Tentagil: You just need a few tweaks to that. Besides the missing Hero Megs (I'll ignore Gobot Megs..everyone else does), you used the wrong pictures for a few. RiD Megs is in Gargoyle mode, so half is face is blocked by snout. Cybertron Megs doesn't have his horns deployed, but I guess that's an aesthic thing.

good cuz it was a cool idea but just too alien for my taste

Too Sauron like for my taste. But that's not to say I didn't like the design for Sauron in LOTR. So I liked it, but not for Megs.

However, any of the other versions of Megatron's head work just fine, save for Armada's version. The big ol' grabber horns were just plain stupid. Can't say I liked the RiD head much either... Okay, let me revise my previous statement.

Any head design aside from RiD and Armada are deemed (IMO) okay for movie use. Preferrably G1.
