how come i never see a clear pic of him not on the base

Yep, I want to see him on level ground and in relation to the BTs/Alts, and no one has done that yet. Also, I wish someone would mention if there is die-cast or not. Well, soon enough I will see him for myself and decide once and for all if he is worth the $100 I paid or simply and oversized BT.

The only metal parts on this figure are some key joints and the base frame. The rest is made out of ABS plastic.

well so much for that

Ok so he is "miscolored." But I think that a cartoon colored SS of that size would look kinda tacky. I actually like the realistic jet mode color and thinks it makes him look stealthlier in robot mode. Now the only way that this would throw in wrenches in any future releases is if they decide to release Skywarp and Thundercracker in their own original colors.

I hope Hasbro speaks up on this guy by Botcon. Either that or I'm gonna have to wait for Tax Returns for this guy.....Unless I can work something else out..?

"Hi. I'm Tavare and I'm a Transformaholic. "

I'm waiting to see if there's going to be a US release before I shell out cash on this. Still looks awesome regardless of the colors.

I really don't think he's THAT miscolored. Sure, the blue chest and crotch parts should be red... but the darker grey isn't a big deal for me. He still looks more like Starscream with the red and white. I like him a lot more knowing that the fins attach to the legs. If they hang too low I'll just have to find a way to make them slide...shouldn't be TOO hard of a mod. I agree that he's too damned expensive... but since the money was spent way back in May, it doesn't hurt me now. I'm glad I didn't cancel my preorder.

Looking forward to when Spencer ships mine to me... =)

*edit* sloppy typing fix'd

Yes what Elrod said about it being not diecast is correct. It's copied and pasted correct. HLJ put up a good mini-review with some very nice photos of the final product accompanying it. Remember people; lots of small pieces are more expensive to mold than fewer and larger pieces. MP Prime was basically built out of several large blocks. Starscream looks a lot more complicated. I don't own him yet, he only looks more complicated based on pictures I've seen, and I've seen pretty much all of them reported on the main TF news sites.

I still cannot wait to get one.

The cost comes from assembly. Some poor chinese kids are hard at work as we speak getting his wings on right now.

For those of you complaning that only some key joints and the base frame are diecast, how exactly does that differ from MP01. He is certainly not a dicast only toy. Am I the only person who thinks that making this guy entirely out of diecast (particularly the wings) would be a disaster. I could see maybe his legs, but that's about it. Sounds like he's going to be pretty G1 accuarate diecastwise.

Anyway, for those of you canceliing you order, I'll think of you as I'm posing what is probably the best TF ever made moldwise.

P

This Starscream doesn't even need G1 colors. He just needs to have a lighter gray and brighter reds and blues, that's all.
