You will go so nuts, you'll be standing in the isle, pretending to read some Gundam toy, and when a kid comes along and picks up one of these new wonders, you will go nuts, pick up the kid, wrench the toy out of his hands, and toss the poor lad into the bicycle isle. Yes you will go so crazy over these things, you will single-handedly be the #1 TF Scalper in your town, buying all the TFs you can find, and sell them at insanely high prices out of the back of a Gremlin in the parking lot of a medium-sized convenience store at 3 in the morning on a Tuesday.

Maybe one day, Transformers will get their own Christopher Nolan who will actually make a good Transformers movie. Perhaps there might be one who takes all that is good from the history of Transformers and makes a good, fan-friendly movie.

Transformers is so fan-friendly it is ridiculous. You can't say this movie isn't fan-friendly. They could have just done what was done with a billion other franchises, and made a movie without getting any feedback from the fans.

And they could have created a Transformers movie without Optimus Prime, Starscream, Megatron, etc. Then they would really be pissed. :P They are trying to preserve the Transformers' characters, from what I can tell. The fact that they are visually surprising isn't going to hurt anything, except a few fanboys' egos.

I haven't seen characters from ANY franchise change that much and that many ppl like it... look at the Mario Bros movie, and the hollywood version of Godzilla. Characters should stay the same no matter what continuity they're in. It'd be completely different if Movie SS had a different name.

 

Actually, it HAS been 22 years. Why is Has/Tak still sticking to the same names again? Just to renew trademarks? Bleh... we've been in need of an entirely new cast, not drastically changing existing characters. JMO.

An homage? Please. The characters will be close to the same. Prime's voice will apparently be the same. That is the kind of thing they are doing for the G1 audience. The fact that they look different is what I'm talking about. It's been 22 years. I think we should all allow for some updating of Cybertronian technology. I figured more people would be talking about what they said about using matter weapons vs. conventional.

by your reasoning, Batman Begins should have sucked because the batmobile was given a major re-imaging, nevermind that it was the writing that made the movie good.

Oh God, just think of the chaos that will ensue once the first sighting of these comes out on the boards. Fanboys everywhere will up and leave their desks, walk out of their jobs and not return for 2 days, or until they have searched every store in their town numerous times and/or found every figure. It will be sheer bedlam.
