MP-03 Starscream Remold

Recommended Posts

Actually, I kind of like MP Scream. IF I could change one thing, I'd make his lower torso red like it should be, but I think he looks pretty slick as is.

i think the mp line gets better with time. i can't wait to see what takara comes up with next. this has been a major improvement since mp01. SS looks alot more detailed and has more realistic gimmicks than prime. I can't wait for this to be in my room on display :thumb

but after i thought about it for a while, how can you see anything negative in that amazing figure?

Easily.

There's plenty of ways I can see something negative.

Firstly I'm a Transformers fan.

I like characters and continuities and stories.

Outside of mini-cons, other small figures and the occasional mold that catches my eye, I have no interest in robots that aren't representing a particular personality as I knew or know them in their continuity, whichever that may be.

I have never seen this Starscream before, there is nothing that makes me want him.

That it's being pushed as one that I am familiar with, is the negative, and a huge one it is.

Secondly, let's say I'm going to buy a TV.

I look and see a TV advertised.

It has several features and some of these are exactly what I'm after.

However, I go to buy it and find out that they changed the TV.

I can still get one with the same name made by the same company, but it has no features I want and lots of new features I couldn't care less about.

Why should I buy it?

I can sit there not having what I wanted without paying.

And as a consumer, it's my job to complain and make sure it's known that I want those features.

If I don't, how will the company know if they're in demand or not?

Which is where the problem comes in.

See, agree or not, I can at least respect those who like the new mold more.

But those who are "settling", or even worse those who Starscream at people telling them to, remind me of this quote:

Worst-Cosmic Wars-Ever!

I will only see it three more times...

Today.

Maybe if people acted like consumers and demanded what they wanted instead of settling constantly, or those unaffected supported those who complained instead of shouting them down 'cos it interferes with their fan worship, we'd have both Starscreams coming, the whole Hasbro toystore fiasco would never have happened and the relationship between HasTak and consumer would be supply and demand, like it's supposed to be; not supply and take whatever we're given like junkies in need of a fix, and grateful we're even noticed.

And I could go on and on and on...

Agreed Shajaki, MP Starscream = beautiful ornament

Classics Starscream = lovely toy

Agreed Shajaki, MP Starscream = beautiful ornament

Classics Starscream = lovely toy

Exactly, they're two different things, so why should those after one type take solace that the qualities they wanted can be found in another they have no interest in?

Your TV analogy breaks down when you make your voice heard on an internet message board for fans/by fans in a country/language that the company doesn't operate in.

For other products, like TVs, where and how the consumer spends their money IS how they complain. And that's the kind of complaint that goes directly to the company in question, not other TV purchasers.

I mean, it may be your job as a consumer to complain, but not to us, man. I don't like the MP Screamer, either, but no one on this board can fix it for us.

Write a letter to Hasbro, let them know you want the other mold, or more accurate colors...heck, find a way to let Takara/Tomy know if you're worried about your duty as a consumer.

On the other hand, if you're just venting, you really have every right to bring your complaints to this board, it is an outlet for fans to voice their opinion after all. Just don't do it under the guise of some capatilistic duty, and understand it won't help you get the product you're looking for.

I mean, it may be your job as a consumer to complain, but not to us, man.

Okay that was worth quoting :tfgrin

I've pretty much decided that I can live with MP-03 as-is, assuming G1 screamer turns out to be completely unatainable for whatever reason. However, I noticed two little oddities looking at the new pics that I'd like to share:

First, the red and blue bits are still visible on the jet's underside, so it's hard to say that there's really much of an improvement. Furthermore, if the colored parts are still visible, why not just make them the right colors? There really isn't any excuse for the blue sides and codpiece.

Second, has anyone taken a good look at what the canopy does in bot mode? In the first mold the canopy fit snugly down into SS's pelvis, making a nice, flat stomach. On the new mold it seems to just stop abruptly, with the end being flat, not curved, and literally hanging out over his belt area. It seems like a very odd thing to want to do to the mold, though it may serve a purpose in jet mode.
