Eh, I just talk about stuff that interests me, good or bad, and right now not much else interests me in Transformers.

And of course in this case, the thread actually addressed people like me, so it'd be rude not to respond...

You know, the more I think about it the more I like this.

 

 

I'll tell you why:

 

- I hate blocky Transformers. The robot mode of MP-03 is less blocky and more in line with G1.5 (Movie/season 3+4 era) rounded characters

- The color scheme is the perfect mix between Starscream and Thundercracker (I don't like either, but I love the MP-03 colors)

- The second prototype just radiates bad attitude. The first prototype just stood there.

 

 

This is why to me this is the most perfect Transformer ever!

all i know is that ui wasn't going to get starscream originally and takomy convinced me not to buy it

I'm still hoping the production shade of grey will be closer to RM SS's or Prime's thighs, which would actually be more accurate than the weird shade of blue we're seeing in these pictures. Real-life accurate, that is. For him to be show accurate he'd basically have to be white. If it looked more like the Robot Master, minus the blue fins and nosecone, I'd be 1000% happier.

I think Takara forgot that they were making a Transformer and ended up making a model airplane instead. I, for one, don't care that the nosecone opens up and has a radar dish inside of it, nor do I care about landing flaps that slow the jet down when it lands.

 

MP Starscream is okay, but it's not anything I'm rushing to buy. I would have been happy with a Starscream that was made in the same way as MP Optimus Prime. A Masterpiece is supposed to be an upscale version of G1 toys, not a model airplane that turns into a robot.

:tflaugh You guys kill me. Like you know what a Masterpiece is "supposed to be". Did Takara call you and tell you this? Have you ever considered that you might just possibly be using the wrong criteria? Sorry he's not all G1 colored and stuff... I never thought I'd hear people complaining about an alt mode being too realistic.

Hey, I like it, but not enough to buy it. I just wish there was a bit more of a compromise with the colors. I think that the colors just fine, as far as placement goes. I don't want a the nose cone and tail fins to be blue. I think that the gray should be lighter and that the blues and reds should be brighter, that's all. Right now it looks like someone's model airplane with a custom paintjob.

I think they should have put more emphasis in making the robot mode look completely accurate, rather than the jet mode. I couldn't care less how many doo-hickies open, close and move around in jet mode, as long as the robot mode was cartoon or comic accurate.

I agree completely. I dont understand why they can't make both, you know, one for people who like the charachter more so than the actual jet, as its been said before, if you want a highly detailed realistic jet, buy a model kit. And this crap that supposedly an accurate color MP SS will be available but it'll cost more and some membership fee, I mean Hasbro/TakaraTomy must be researching a book, "How to piss off your fanbase 101"
