Wait a week for all the news from Botcon. If a US release is planned anytime in the near future it most likely will be announced there.

...Or it'll be announced at a random time, completely out of the blue... or it won't be announced at all, and test shots will just start showing up on ebay at some point in the future.

Hopefully they will show us the real deal @ botcon, I'd prefer an anime colors version to match the view screen on Prime's arm more closely

this is the first time I stumbled onto this discussion about the mold changes, so this is news to me. Anyhow, I think the mold changes could be a good thing in that one mold could be just for the takara japan release and the other mold would be for US release to boost or promote say the release of the animated movie on DVD.

That would literally be a dream come true for a lot of fans, including myself, but I seriously doubt that's going to happen. Takara probably hucked their first MP-03 proto in the "Molds Sertile Prefers" bin alongside BW Neo Unicron and Alt Rumble.
