Do you think there should be Star Trek Transformers? 37 members have voted

  1. 1. Do you think there should be Star Trek Transformers?

    • Yes, this idea has never been done before. There has been Star Wars and soon Battlestar Galactica, Trek should also have a place in the Transformers universe.

    • No, the idea is not very good. Star Trek should not have any TF's.

While I am a decent Star Trek fan, I don't see the majority of the starships having any practical transformation into a robot mode.

(As argued in the previous topic.)

IMO Starwars shouldn't have done it and for that matter niether should Startrek. :roll

I don't even think either toys are made by the same company.  So it wouldn't work anyway, aside from the fact that it's just a plain bad idea as was the SWTF line that they have.  They only did it to see what a crossover of their two most successful toy lines would be like.

the star wars transformers would have been a good idea if they hadn't been made to look like there pilots as has already been stated in another thread but if the designers just focused on the ships transforming into really cool looking robots then there really shouldn't be a propblem with the way the look and work but thinking up a marketing story to bind them with transformers would be dificult and since they are made completely different companies the idea is good but negligiable in the grand skeem of things :wave

Agreed.

swtf's are good enough for me so I votred 'no'

after seeing how the SWTFs look i'm not impressed, so i'd say the STTFs would come out the same. no thanks

If the ST ships turned into actual TF characters, maybe.

If the enterprise transforms into kirk, no.

But I would buy a Reliance/Khan toy.

Maybe a small line, even as a huge Star Trek fan I dont really see most of the Star trek ships working as viable Transformers (IE: Not Fugly like the Star wars ones!)

But the ones that would work... I'd buy em, certainly.

Agreed, if Trek TF's were made, then to have them as new TF's instead of looking like characters from the show itself would be good.  But it would require good designing skills, good engineering, good imagination from the designers and decent materials used.  While the alt modes for the SW TF's are very nice, the robot modes tend to differ from alright to 'please kill me'.  ST TF's would work if they didn't go the same way as the SW TF's.  The line would work with great alt modes, really good robot modes and for both modes to be well made, solid enough to hold together in both modes and not being made to look like any of the characters.

Also a good story that fits in would work, like for example the Federation comes across a world where Transformer tech has somehow appeared.  While Starfleet investigates, the Romulans are the first to steal some of the technology and use it on their ships.  After that the Klingons, Tholians and Ferengi steal some of the technology.  Not long after the Borg also finds some on another world and begins to attack various worlds.  The Klingons and the Federation try to hold the Borg back, but their chances aren't good and the Romulans and the Borg negotiate a deal with only one purpose, the conquest of the Alpha and Beta quadents.  The Tholians and the Ferengi, seeing that they don't really stand much of a chance against either force, try to keep out of the way but are soon caught up in the problem.

Soon the Cardassians get hold of the tech and the Dominion returns after they've gotten hold of the tech.  As the Allied forces try to hold back the mounting forces, the real Transformers arrive in this seperate universe-the Autobots and Maximals to retrive their tech and the Decepticons and Predacons to take sides just for the fun of it.

The idea would take a lot of work and decent ideas.

Also a mild star trek fan.

Agree that there should not be a transformers/star trek line. Star wars has dragged the transformers line into the mud already, you want another run? :wtf
