Do you think there should be Star Trek Transformers? 37 members have voted

  1. 1. Do you think there should be Star Trek Transformers?

    • Yes, this idea has never been done before. There has been Star Wars and soon Battlestar Galactica, Trek should also have a place in the Transformers universe.

    • No, the idea is not very good. Star Trek should not have any TF's.

Star Trek is far from dead, it just needs a fresh angle. A series on a Klingon ship like the Gorkon books or something like that.

And it should be a reminder to Transfans because Transformers could be headed the same way if something new is not tried. At the moment they are just rehasing old ideas.

not Star Treks belief per say, Rodenberry had a very "light" view with StarTrek (think original and 1st few seasons of NextGeneration)  But after Rodenberrys death the shows went darker and more complex.  The Writers made it that way Geans vision was user frindly , hence it inspiring a generation of nerds getting inspired from it (aka the cell phone = original communicator) But after he died and his vision went with him, so unfortunatly the writers had other thoughts on the direction, and StarTrek basicaly went down in flames. They unintentionaly made it so People couldn't even follow it anymore, and the storys got a little too dark and war bent for non-trekkies to enjoy.

Hence Paramount thinks Trek as cursed,  so we'll NEVER see anything NEW Trek relelated for quite some time.  saddly.

Just to justify myself this info isnt comming out of my "exaust-port" I view a program hosted by W. Shatner ABOUT Trek and how it changed the world, and it explains (loosely) Treks demise once Roddenberry died.

Trek died because of the writers AFTER Roddenberry??? What the heck? How many seasons did the original Star Trek, under the watchful eye of a young and healthy Gene Roddenberry, keep making new episodes??? Only three.

Sorry, but you can't say that the new writers "ruined" Star Trek, and that's why they aren't making it anymore. "Enterprise" was in production for more seasons than original "Trek" was.

There is at least one fake duo-con like Transformer from Startrek.  IT was made up of red white and blue colored plastic and formed from the merge of a Klingon Cruzer and a ship like the Reliant.  I have it in storage somewhere, was rather nice actually.  Always wanted to paint them up right.

I'll have to see if I can find the picts of them.

There have been many fan art and customs made.  I made 3 my self, 2 Bird of Prey Megatrons and one Optimus Star ship.

The idea behind my fan fic was to launch the Prime vs Megatron battle into the Star Trek universe.  Basic idea was Megatron was found and revived, rebuilt as a Klingon BOP, with shields, cloak, transporter and lots of fire power started killing across the galaxy.  Of course it was only Prime, redone as a Voyager class star ship that could stop him.

Used HERO prime and megs as the basis for the customs.  And made a smaller BOP Megatron out of a BW Air Razor which came out very good.

I'd say if they wanted to make a Klingon small BOP toy, they use the BW NEO dino bird, wings fold up across its chest and back, kinda looks like Worf's sash thing.  Probably be better as Starscream.  Leaving Megatron for a War Bird.

At any rate, Optimus had the bottom of the ship as his legs, deflector dish in knees (upside down grill of the truck).  Arms had the warp engines mounted, and the saucer section was detatchable.  Megatron had the front section of the Bird of Prey mounted to his tank gun, so in robot mode it sat on his shoulder.  Wings attached to the side, and re attached to his back in robot mode.  Even had a voice box from a talking GiJoe figure that fit on the top.

Wow, nice idea! But I would like if Prime Transformed into a Sovereign or Excalibur class ship since it goes very well with him perfectly. Megatron should Transform into a Dominion Warship as seen in DS9's Dominion war. Starscream should Transform into a Valdore as seen in Nemesis, and a character like Jetfire should Transform into a Prometheus class. Hotshot would go well as a Defiant as well.

First off, I would not want to see a Klingon Christopher Lloyd figure, or a Montobon Reliant action figure with rapid fire abs.  I would rather see a TF character used as the machine.  I rather dislike the SW characters being used for the SW ships, and only bought a couple to make more customs.

Having characters from the actual show and Transform them into the ships they are in command of is a bit tacky in a way, but having Autobot characters like Optimus, Jetfire, Hotshot, Megatron, Starscream and many others Transform into Trek ships is a neat idea. Paramount does have a deal with Hasbro, but if Star Trek itself also makes a small deal with Hasbro, they could make some real kick-butt Transformers.

Eh, bit rusty, but wasn't Roddenberry only directly involved with the first season of TOS, the first movie, and the first two seasons of TNG?

I could see the appeal of having regular TF characters transform into ST ships (not like SW where it's based on the human, but just classic TF's). However, I don't think it will work designwise.

From the UFP ships only the defiant-class, the Runabouts, the Delta Flyer and the shuttles seem workable to me (the old TNG shuttle would make a great cybertronian Wheeljack). The other starships are to sleek and thin for this IMO. If I look at the model kits behind me then I really can't see them work as a TF. Even if they made them shellformers to the extreme, then I just don't see robot parts in it.

The non UFP ships will work better. The bird of Prey and especially the dominion warship should work fine. And rocklords proved that a (borg) cube will also work.

Hmm, I didn't know that his direct involvement was limited to those. But I think that proves that his "direct involvement" isn't necessarily what keeps a Trek show from being canceled.

Uh, your wrong there. Have you heard of the Excalibur class? It's a real thick ship but yet very powerful ship, and would go just perfect with somebody like Optimus Prime.

Here are some pics of it (Incase you don't know how it looks):

Sadly, no I haven't heard of that class. My interest waned incredibly at some time and has closed to died off by now -- although I do get a thrill out seeing DS-9 DVD's and some recordings of Enterprise). In which show did this ship feature (as a background, no doubt)?

Indeed, it looks more solid and a better chance of becoming a TF, but still...The warp nacelle's will make at best skinny arms, but they're un-useable as legs. The saucer is thicker, but I still can't see much coming out there. In the best situation the secondary hull could hold the legs, the saucer would fold up to form the main body, and either arms had to come out there or the nacelle's would form skinny arms.

The Excalibur does indeed seem like a better option than say the Sovereign or Constitution class. But still, I can't see it work. Besides, should they do this, then they would probably want to make the better known ships the better known characters. And I just don't see those ships working to those characters.

The Excalibur class never featured in any episodes and series, it's a fan made ship.  Rather like my own designs of ships, the Trojan class and the Laein class are my own designs, I've even made a small model of the Trojan class, a rough draft model though since it really looks like a mix of Defiant and Miranda class with a small touch of Akira class.

Actually, the Excalibur class was featured in a few of the Trek Novels. But unfortunately was never actually seen any episode of any of the series. A Excalibur could make a good Transformer, and the Nacelles just MIGHT become legs. And oh ya, a Minicon could be something like a Delta Flyer or Type 11 shuttle. A Sovereign class CAN be a Transformer..... maybe a Girl Transformer because of it's skinny size.

Never read any of the books that feature the Excalibur class.  They must be E-Books or books that haven't been released here.  The only Excalibur ship I know is the one Calhoun is captain of, not that I've been able to read the rest of that great series in quite a few years.

A character like Bumblebee, a spy character, would make a good Obeth class, it's small and fit for exploration more than combat.
