My favorite was Cerbros turning into a mini version of Fort Max. :tflaugh

rebirth sucked for many reasons

 

1 rushed episodes that had no time for character development because there were too many characters to introduce.

 

2 the animation was poor

 

3 cerebros was a total pussy

 

4 Daniel and Arcce :puke

 

5 the overuse of the phrase "the hive" in the explanation of the hierarchy on Nebulos

 

6 the walking into the autobot heads was just lame

 

7 the character introductions all sucked

 

8 the fact the nebulons knew what humans were even though they had never seen autobots.

 

9 the crappy one liners that they said before going into battle.

 

10 the fact it should have been a five parter instead of a three parter

For you Headmasters Comic lovers -- remember that Scourge and Cyclonus were regular, everday, decepticons, and in no way related to Unicron whatsoever.

In the comic they were the same Scourge and Cyclonus who came from Unicron.

 

There was all this stuff in 2007 and it wound up with Death's Head pushing Scourge and Cyclonus through a time portal as it exploded, which resulted in those two 'Cons arriving on late '80's Cybertron and teaming up with Skorponok.

Then the Headmasters comic happened, then they got to Earth and then Megatron ripped off Cyclonus' head, which, as he died before he was created, started this whole rift in time which resulted in the Time Wars story.

It's 100% jealousy on the part of Japanese continuity lovers, plain and simple. They know deep down how much Headmasters sucks, and that Rebirth was a much better ending to the G1 story.

I really liked the alien aspect of the Nebulons. Why should humans always take the lead in cartoons? This was a neat and welcome change. Naturally I also liked the aspect of them being able to cooperate with the Transformers rather then the head being a smaller robot better.

 

The problem with Rebirth is that David Wise wrote a story and was told "we love it but you are going to have to short it down to 3 episodes" so cuts had to be made. You cannot blame that on Rebirth.

 

Just look at the stuff they cut out of Terminator 2. In the shortened version we learn that the Terminator can learn due to its CPU's learning capacity. In the enhanced version we learn that the CPU is set to read only whenever a Terminator goes out alone to avoid it learning too much.

 

Sarah and John reset it and the Terminator learns a lesson that hopefully humanity will learn too. (As you may realize I LOVE that movie)

 

Anyways, those scenes add a LOT to the movie and I think the same can be said for Rebirth.

 

And why would the Nebulons not know about humans. We did launch the Voyager spacecraft so it was possible they found it and thusly learned all about humans.

 

Besides being a race that has had 2 World Wars and one cold war that nearly destroyed our entire planet, one would think our reputation precedes us.  :tflaugh

I have yet to see many of the Headmaster series, but the few that i did had characters that had died in the movie (i.e prowl) I like to see alot of characters at one location, gives more feel for an actual battle rather than the western standoffs in Armada. I liked Rebirth alot because of the fact it was my first sight into a new direction into what G1 was going to be. lastly it was the only time ive seen sixshot animated.

Here's a reason. He wasn't alive during G1, so he'd have no appreciation of it versus other stuff of that time. In other words, he's a young man who sees the world through Hutner rose colored glasses.
