Why is Rebirth so hated?

I still don't get the hatred for Rebirth.  It's not quite the suckfest you people make it out to be.  It certainly scores higher (IMO) on the watchability scale than RiD and Armada. 

 

Is it the Nebulons?  The lack of Dinobots?  No Munkky Prime?  What is it?

It's 100% jealousy on the part of Japanese continuity lovers, plain and simple. They know deep down how much Headmasters sucks, and that Rebirth was a much better ending to the G1 story.

For a show targeted towards 5-8 year old boys, I think it did the trick. :thumb

Expecially when I was probably in that age group when it came out.

The problems I saw with Rebirth is the complete lack of continuity involving the Matrix with the previous episode "The Return of Optimus Prime."  At the end of that Ep, Optimus gives Hot Rod the empty matrix back for him to refill with knowledge, yet, at the beginning of Rebirth, Optimus has it back, and it's miraculously filled & shiney.  The rest of the issue was the fact they had at least 10 episodes worth of material that they crammed into 3, leaving no room to flesh-out plotlines & character development, let alone showing Six-Shot take out the Aerialbots and Galvatron's troops taking out the entire Autobot resistance on Cybertron.

 

And the most important reason.....  Optimus being given an entirely gray crest & no ears/antenna....  wtf was that about?

Oh yeah, almost forgot...  all the Nebulons being green when they were normal in the comics which brought 'em out first, and Zarak being the most muscular of all, yet being unable to walk himself until putting himself through the headmaster process?  :wtf
