1: Goki, no offense, but we kind of know about how you don't like the rendering of don's Snarl. You've said so more than a couple of times already.

As for the design, the toy itself doesn't look like a wolverine at all. I give you that. But, the drawing has to be recognizable. At one look, you have to see that that is Snarl. If Don drew a correct wolverine, no-one would recognize it. Besides, a real wolverine looks butt-ugly, who would want to see that?

2: X-bob: 3H is dead. Japanese cartoons never even aired here. 3H isn't considered canon, not by Furman, who is generally seen as THE authority on Transformers. As for Japanese continuity, it has no effect on American stories. And that is simply because it's basically not Transformers. Not as we know it. American continuity is based on the Hasbro-license. In Japan, there is a different license, owned by Takara, now TakaraTomy. So, while they basically share the same name and toys, the products are not the same. American continuity comes from the Hasbro license, Japanese continuity comes from the Takara(-Tomy) license. The same thing happens with Power Rangers. Japanese continuity and American continuity also differ in that case. Again, because the licenses differ.

1. Snarls a Tasmanian Devil :P

2. I guess that means that Captain Britan dosn't exist in the 616/Marvel Universe

I have mixed feelings about the BW comic, it totaly Blots all over the JBW series and the 3H comics...

And the 3H comics try to make out technoorganics evil and such.  Its G1 fanwank for g1ers who couldn't stand BM, since it "changed everything they loved" and blah blah blah.

Also how does it do wrong to the JBW series??? :tfhuh

Technorganic's wern't evil in Wreckers or universe :wtf

It screws up the Japense timeline by including Magmatron.

Your right I was thinking of something else.

issue three is out???????? i hafta go get it now!!!

I'm pretty sure it's not.  We'll get infiltration 4 before we get BW 3.

Actually we won't BW #3 is Wednesday. :thumb

to be honst he looks more like some sort of rabid squirrel

As I've already said, the Snarl toy's beast mode was always terrible. But the IDW beast form is even worse... which is astounding.

Toy Snarl doesn't look like a Tasmanian Devil, but he does look like some generic marsupial... thing. IDW Snarl not only doesn't look like a Tasmanian Devil, but doesn't even look like a marsupial!! Teh suxxors!!

As X-BoB58 said, Snarl is a Tasmanian Devil, not a wolverine.

And he's not very recognisable. I did NOT recognise him when I first saw him. It was only when another fan pointed it out to me that I thought, "holy crap that's badly drawn!"

The IDW Snarl does look more like a wolverine though, now that you point it out...

...great... they completely got Snarl's beast mode WRONG. :(

The wolverine (Gulo Gulo) is a member of the Mustelidae family, which also includes skunks, minks and weasels. They are native to the Northern United States, Canada, Alaska, Siberia and Northern Europe. The Tasmanian Devil (Sarcophilus harrisii) on the other hand - as the name suggest - come from the Australian state of Tasmania. Also, they are marsupials - marsupials differ from placental mammals by having a pouch where the young are born and are nursed. The most iconic marsupials would be the kangaroos and wallabies, but wombats, koalas, bilbies and the Tassie Devil are all marsupials too. (and knowing's half the battle!)

1: Yeah, about Snarl...He looks like a wolverine to me. Even then, not very accurate, but it looks better than a Tasmanian devil. I never took him, even 10 years ago, for a Tasmanian devil, I always thought of him as a wolverine, because, come on, it just looks more like a wolverine than a Tasmanian Devil. My guess what happened: Don looked at the animal which most looked like the toy. Instead of drawing the animal the toy is based on, he took the toy, and simply drew it more animalistic. If you want to complain, you should go to the original designers of Snarl, and not critisize Don, who's only doing the best he can.

As for Captain Britain: Marvel UK is a daughter of Marvel Comics. Marvel UK doesn't own a seperate license, but makes use of the same license Marvel Comics owns. Therefore, not the same situation. False analogy.

But Snarl is supposed to be a Tasmanian Devil!! It's a well known fact, regardless of how unsuccessful HasTak may have been in sculpting his beast mode!

What irks me is that IDW has gone to extensive effort in drawing the other beasts quite accurately - well beyond the accuracy of the toys, making improvements over some of the toys' shortcomings, but this was NOT done for Snarl.

But IDW's Snarl is even less zoologically correct than HasTak's! The artist should be improving the designs, not making them worse... (-_-)

Even BWII animators simply drew a toy-accurate Tasmania Kid, which just makes him no better or worse than the toy. That's fair enough, the fault can be solely traced to HasTak. I wish IDW had done that rather than actually making Snarl's beast mode look worse. That's just really ordinary...

Yay :clap BW Ravage is back :tfevil

X-Bob, I don't really care that they brought Magmatron here.  You see Big Convoy in the first issue in Razorbeast's flashback of him and Lio Convoy on Cybertron.  And speaking of which, Lio never made it here to America, so you might as well say that bringing him and any other characters that may show up that were only in Japan would ruin the story.

So taking what 'Zakath said, I have this response, amen 'Zakath.

Nobody cares.  It's a good story line.

BW Ravage was brought back already, in Primeval dawn

BW Ravage was brought back already, in Primeval dawn

In the IDW Comics X-Bob.  Not anything else.  If that's 3H, remember, it's not official continuity.

Yes it is, it has Hasbro's logo on it :P
