Me and my big mouth! I just told some one that TRU is becoming my favorite store for new Alts. The last 2 releases made it to the TRU near me a week after they were sited across the different TF forums.

PLEASE DON'T CLOSE THE STORES! WAAAAHHHH!

150-200 stores could close, not all of them. Don't freak out just yet.

Hope my stays open, one less store to hit is just what I *need*

That '200 closings' part worries me. I *think* that theres only one in my state(no more than 2)... I don't know if thats good or bad when it comes to closures(if this is their only holding in this state would the new owners let it go?).

I'm guessing that you'd probably be OK, as if there are only one or two in your state it's obviously less populated and the real estate isn't worth that much (no offense).

I can think of at least four TRUs within 10 miles of my current location, I wouldn't be surprised if they closed at least half of them. Although, I don't really consider any of them to be in "prime" retail locations, most are within a block or two of another big empty retail property.

Well if TRU actually got in new toys when they came out, instead of 3-4 months after other stores then they might have done well. But the dumb butts would let old stock sit on the shelves instead of marking it down and putting it in a clearence bin.

I got 2 in my general area.. none of them seem generally busy.. :tfsad

Well, atleast I can be watchin them like a vulture to cash in on the store clearances..

If Target gets involved, that would be sweet.. I like Target.. but Walmart? Teh evil scourge of the earth.. I always get that feeling when I walk in that place..

Same here...

Time to vent some anger...

I worked for TRU here in the UK over the last 2 Christmas's, that’s about 8 months in total and I really don't care if the close them all because the state of the stores here in London is horrible and the way that I was treated by the manager at the store that I worked at was disgraceful.

I was hired to become a permanent employee last Christmas because I had worked for them the pervious Christmas. Everything was going great until after Christmas when I heard that the store had made a £600.000+ loss over the previous Christmas's and that they would have to get rid of more staff than they usually do after Christmas, but because I was taken on as a permanent employee and the only way that they could get rid of me was to fire me, guess what happened, the manager said that they had received a bad reference and because I had only worked for them for 4 months and not 6 under their employee rules I was fired. I contested this of course but failed, but I did find out from their head office that they had actually not received one of the three references that I gave them and that they had known about this when they hired me to work for them and they had not bothered to inform me.

Anyway they never really had that much Transformers stuff and most of it was 3-4 months old anyway, Woolworth’s normally had more then them and besides we have a lot of small independent toy stores here so it won't make that much difference.

PO

Dont be fooled, its likely nothin will happen to TRU's "buisness as usual" till probably AFTER X-mas. Has anyone tought that the 150 -200 "closings" could just be changing over to Babies-R-Us's? And this whole Changing hands coulld be good, if they keep TRU going there "new" ways of doing things. Meaning the buyers have "done" away with the Stock holders method so if anyone has TRU stock and bought below its present standing expect a check in the mail for what you owned. By not being "stock-held" when the Big guys says "this isnt working lets do this.." they can (hypatheticaly) if Transformers are selling well thet'll get a bigger section or newer product faster or "heaven-forbid" we get RobotMaster. So this could be a giant step foreward for TRU's, or a jump into the fire pit. We'll see.

:tdown :puke no they can not go nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn0000000000000000000000000 :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad :tfsad
