TRU going to 3 firms?

Recommended Posts

what worries me is if we loose a big chunk of the Toys 'R' Us stores in the nation, that Wall-Mart (my primary sorce for TFs because there is no other local sorce where I'm usualy at) and heck maybe even Target will go "well there goes the competition. OK boys raise all those prices!!!"

That would just realy suck.

The size of TRU is a pin prick to Wal-Mart. As for Target, eh, doesn't matter really. Target and Wal-Mart compete with each other. Around here, wherever there is a Wal-Mart, there is a Target close by. They compete with each other, so I highly doubt they'll raise prices. In fact, I remember a small "price hike" at Target a month or two back, well now all the prices have gone DOWN by about $.30 or so. Not all TRU stores will close, only about 200, and they'll most likely be the stores that don't perform very well.

Calm down people, it's not the end of the world. I would have preferred Target buy TRU. I mean, Target is the only one that can compete with Wal-Mart and win (Target has had better monthly sales than Wal-Mart, but due to size, Wal-Mart still gains more money). I believe Target could have done something with TRU, even if it did mean closing stores and selling them to other companies or something, they could have made a bigger toy section in their store called "Toys R Us" or something and Target could have the edge over Wal-Mart, since they could have access to far more toys. But that didn't happen. We just have to wait and see what happens next.
