Since TRU is being bought buy equity firms and real estate developers, look for parts of the company to be spun off and sold. Babies 'R Us will become a stand-alone company for sure and may be expanded into new areas, using existing TRU stores. The TRU name will probably be sold...I have a feeling that Target will get involved somehow...

I can see it now, "Target: Toys R Us!" as their name for the toy section. :tflaugh :tflaugh

I just saw the news and they said TRU has 1300 stores

Hopefully they won't close the Belfast store. It's the only one in the whole of Ireland (as far as I know...)!

You're right

I wonder how this will afftect the future of the Japan G1 releases, i'd assumed part of the cost of them being released was absorbed by Hasbro selling some to TRU.....

The Uk Toymaket isn't quite in the same boat as the US one, i think actual Toy shops are still doing ok compared to supermarket chains.

is the european tru a different company? i hope it is because it is the most reliable to get the newer tfs (apart from when argos brings out there new catalogue anyway)

Tha could be an international figure.

Sorry, but all Toys R Us stores worldwide are the same company.

There are 600 some stores in the USA and 600 some worldwide. So yeah, the 1300 figure is worldwide.

Me and my big mouth! I just told some one that TRU is becoming my favorite store for new Alts. The last 2 releases made it to the TRU near me a week after they were sited across the different TF forums.

PLEASE DON'T CLOSE THE STORES! WAAAAHHHH!
