Why i Dont like G1

Recommended Posts

I understand completely. :D

And you're right as well; G1 purists DO NOT have a right to push G1 down everyone's throats. i believe that doing that can ruin ANYTHING very fast. As i've said in the 'why i like G1" topic, no one has the right to slam or push a series. either one is bad, and both can cause a war that ends up with the losers being the fans.

I think most people have a problem w/ G1 because of the G1 "purists" out there that think G1 is the only relevant Transformers line.

Thats why I hate G1.

Agreed. But I don't hate G1, that's too powerful a word to use. It's more like "annoyed" with the constant Starscreaming of the G1 lovers.

I am actually reverse nostalgic for the lack of a better word. G1 was great, but I hate to focus on it cause the line has come so far, and I couldnt go back, I hunger for articulation.

its kind of like classic cars, they are cool, but give me a spankin brand new escalade any day over that pos 73 caddy I got for my first car

To accept repaints because "we've always had them since G1" is in my humble opinion a mistake.

where are you getting this? i dont think anyone accepts repaints because "we've always had them since G1", and if you find someone that does, point them out so that they can get the flames that are sure to come your way

I understand completely. :D

I'm glad we can agree here. :thumb

There are people that like repaints............

................as long as the repaint is a new character and a decent color scheme.

i have no problem with repaints, my thing is that this guy claims people accept repaints cause "we've always had repaints since G1",

I don't think we accept repaints '"because we've always had them. " if that were the case, we'd be accepting a lot more thing in this life, due to THAT logic.

exactly, this is awesome, now people are inventing reasons, through flawed logic, to hate g1

and thus far, ive not heard a single reason warranting someone not liking g1 as a whole, mostly just complaints of bad stories (like that is exclusive to g1), and militant g1 fans that are no longer around this board

I've noticed that too. All it takes is one basher or one militant to start a whole steaming pool of slag.

Repaints are NOT exclusive to G1. Go Bots were well-known for it's repaints of figures. (just HOW many Leader-1 and Cy-Kill versions do we need?)

Long time reader, first time poster.

You are in severe error here.

Of the 140+ GoBots figures released from 1983 to 1987, there have been exactly 4 repaints. Well, technically 5 if you count mail away exclusives. Courageous had Grungy, there were two Boomer clones, and the Creepy mail away could glow in the dark.

Leader1 and CyKill had exactly ONE repaint each, 40+ figures into the line. The Super GoBot versions were totally different and larger molds. So please stop spreading such fallacy across our fandom.

Also, I'd like the idiocy that is "GeeWun" to cease. You demean not only those of us who do appreciate G1 but also yourselves.

PS - G1, apparently unbeknownst to the previous poster, had relatively few straight repaints. The 3 original Seeker jets, assorted cassettes, and 3rd year minibots are the only ones that come to mind. Everyone else, from Ramjet and Hoist to Stepper and Soundblaster, had remolded parts. Not bad for 9 years huh?

Especially compared with Armada, which has a small handful of figures that escaped a repaint (Wheeljack, Laserbeak, err...) and several more that've had a third (SuperPants Prime and friends, Sideswipe, Thrust, Hotshot, Supercon Prime, Red alert, Starscream, etc)...
