Well I know some people don't like G1 at all so you might want to voice your opinion on why, no flaming.

Yeah, G1 should never have been made!

Waitaminnit... If G1 was never made... Aw, screw it!

;)

i am extremly interested in hear viable reasons why people hate g1, thus far all people seem to come up with is the animation compared to today, and some plot holes that appear when you analize it

i think what m-80 was tring to say is, if G1 was'nt made then you wouldnt have beast wars, beast machines, R.I. D. (which we could have done without /except for the figures) all of the japanes series, energon, ect, ect , you know were im going with this :roll anyway i love G1 im glad they made it. transformers wouldnt have been the same without it :thumb

I think most people have a problem w/ G1 because of the G1 "purists" out there that think G1 is the only relevant Transformers line. That mindset turns many people off, IMO. Sure, the toys aren't like today's TF's, but they shouldn't be...most of the designs for the G1 toys are over 25 years old.

I think a lot of the anti-G1 stuff is just reactionary. I don't think it would exist if not for the GeeWun fanboys out there crying about how everything except G1 isn't "really" Transformers and will never live up to bla bla bla...

I don't see how anyone who grew up with G1 and is a fan now could NOT at least appreciate it for what it was. Of course the toys and cartoon have been surpassed since then, but you would hope so, given that the line is 20 years old!

I'm not a big fan of the show anymore, and that's coming from a guy who not only taped, re-watched, and freeze-framed every episode, every commercial and every promo, but who made music videos from the show as well. (To quote Ace Ventura, "obsess much?")

The cartoon is just too old and cheesy for me to enjoy anymore. I just find it annoying. I can still enjoy TF:TM, however, but that's mainly because it's so different from the TV show.

The toys, on the other hand... I don't think I will ever outgrow those. They have a special place in my heart.

my question, where are these "geewun" fanboys that everyone is always complaining about? i see constant reference to people that only like g1, but i never see anyone actually say they hate everything else, or that only g1 is really transformers

I understand that geewun wasn't that great in animation and that they are just bricks. But back then they were the greatest thing out there and they were. Imagine 20 years from now when they will say Energon toys were bricks and the cartoon had lousy animation. Everything gets better as time passes.

I like them all. Does that make my opinion legit? I do like how they reimagine some characters from G1. And I love how they introduce new characters. I just don't see why there's this perception that there are youngin's out there yelling that "G1 sucks because they're not as cool as the ones made now!". Well, yeah. They're not as detailed or articulated, but consider the timeframe. Things always get better with time and experience.

It always confuses me to no end how some people can let themselves get caught in that time paradox rational of "New rules! Old sucks!".

Oops.
