Ok, so note to self ... Buy this, DESTROY Prime, and rest the trailer on a previous Prime. Even if the fit isn't perfect, it's better then seeing this combined monstrosity! And good god, if you're going to Photoshop something... take the glare down a few pegs!!!! sheesh ....

If the trailer does have a base mode (as the press release implies) I miiiiiiiiiight give it a second look because I love me a good trailer base.

 

But if not, this set looks like total fail. DOTM is shaping up to be a disappointment. The only figure from it I've committed myself to is Shockwave. Everything else looks like I'll be comfortable with skipping.

 

At least the Prime toyline just swooped in to save the day!

Trailer mode is pretty cool though but ...Sigh..I just don't know what to think about this thing.

Me thinks it is time to pick up another Jetfire and get the Battle Hooks Prime to customize into Power-Up Prime Mode! That way it'll look have way decent! This thing is such a disappointment!

I was also looking forward to Ultimate Optimus Prime, but I wasn't expecting anything like this, either. Those 'wings' are kind of odd-looking - and Prime looks a bit undersized. At the moment I think my ROTF Optimus looks a lot better.

 

I may appreciate this version of Prime more (though it's looking unlikely) when we get a better look at the 'command centre' mode or after TF3 comes out, but right now it's dropped quite a few places down my Transformers Wanted Hit List.

 

 

 

When are we going to get that Generations Powermaster Optimus Prime? The people working on that TF toyline seem to know what I want.

You know, this is just the Voyager, maybe there's a Leader-class trailer coming around, perhaps including a retooled ROTF Leader OP, or even designed to fit that fig outright.

I just hope enough kiddies buy these toys so Hasbro will have enough cash to manufacture a real Powermaster Optimus Prime. On and Generations Depth Charge.

I've been thinking - maybe this is actually the Ultimate Optimus Prime equivalent of Mega Power Bots Constructicon Devastator. That must be it. The real Ultimate Optimus Prime may more akin to City Commander, done Movie-style.

 

On the other hand, it frees up my budget for the other TFs. Leader-class Sentinel Prime might be cool.
