Walmart Thundercracker

How much are they going for at TJMax?

$29.99, according to other sites. I haven't been to one to check. I think I'd pay that, considering the Takara version will still run 4 times that amount.

I picked up the Takara version when it first came out, but would like to see a Hasbro release for a couple of reasons... I think Hasbro did a better job with the G1-style wing apps on Skywarp (presumably they would do similar for TC), but also the Takara TC is a really dark blue, more suited to Dirge if you ask me. Needs to be a lighter shade (and without all those white lines and tiny white markings of the Takara one).

*confused*

TJ Max has MP Thundercracker???? (the HAsbro version) ????

I thought it was not even made or released yet???

I realize that all 3 of the seekers have had a Takara release (starscream 3x in fact - greenscream, G1 colors and clear).

But please correct me if i'm wrong, but the HASBRO versions have only released Starscream and skywarp, right???

I also got the TOMY version when it first came out, but I personally would not like to see a lighter blue version. The original Thundercracker toy was dark metallic blue (whereas Dirge is a flat royal blue) - and he was dark blue in the G1 comics too. The cartoon model was a lighter sky blue for some odd reason, but I've always loved Thundercracker's original G1 colours. He's my favourite of the G1 Seekers, both the toy and the character. :)

Yeah I always liked him second best after Starscream! The toon was far too light (what was that all about?!) but just a shade lighter, like for instance Henkei Thundercracker, would suit him better IMO. Another thing Hasbro did was make the air vents silver all over, which I think looks more proper for the character in jet mode. I know the Takara/TOMY ones are more real-world accurate, I just think they're a bit plain as planes :tflaugh

Skywarp went straight to Clearance. I pray Thundercracker goes to Walmart too or I'll never see em just like Grimlock.

We went a little off topic talking about Skywarp on clearance.

The relevance is that if Skywarp didn't sell well for Hasbro then it might justify their hesitance/reluctance to release MP Thundercracker. MP Skywarp was only available in some parts of Australia (I think it was exclusively sold through Toyworld which we don't have in NSW but other states like QLD and WA etc. do) - and there were widespread reports of MP Skywarp shelfwarming in Toyworlds, even after prices were reduced.

I understand the issues of suppy/demand and those loss of sales and projects of Skywarp making it so that they don't even release a Thundercracker.

What confused me is someone saying TJ Max had thundercracker. I was under the impression it was never even released. I was just verifying that.

Are you sure his is a Hasbro Masterpiece and not a TakaraTOMY one? Cos I've never heard of a Hasbro MP Thundercracker before.

TFwiki's page on G1 Thundercracker only lists TOMY's MP Thundercracker and says nothing about Hasbro MP Thundercracker. TFwiki's page on Masterpiece also doesn't mention anything about a Hasbro MP Thundercracker (scroll down to the bottom of the page under "References" for information regarding Hasbro MPs). I just ran a Google Image Search on Hasbro Masterpiece Thundercracker and I can see no images of a MISB Thundercracker in Hasbro packaging.

Just out of curiosity, any particular reason why you skipped TOMY's MP Thundercracker? You seem pretty keen for the toy - I was uber keen for it too, hence why I pre-ordered mine... even at TOMY's stupid marked up price (Gggrrrrr! I really don't like how TOMY's MP Thundercracker and Grimlock were so overpriced (though still cheaper than the RRP for Hasbro's MPs)... even with the current strength of the AUD I have no intention of paying 17640JPY + shipping for MP Rodimus Convoy!
