Walmart Thundercracker

Recommended Posts

Is there any word on when they will release the Hasbro MP Thundercracker??? It's not like they havn't done a TON of these molds -- more than I even want. But I hate having the other 2, and having this hole in the collection - when it has been THIS LONG since Skywarp was released. What in the world is the holdup?? Why do I have a sense that they have overplayed the mold, and now they might not even release it for business reasons?? Has there been any word on it??

It might be sometime in the new year, or it might be in 2012. Skywarp was released in 2008, and Grimlock got released this year. Maybe they simply don't want to flood the market with big, expensive toys that kids probably won't be inclined to buy? And who knows if it'll even be Wal-Mart that gets the release? It might be Toys 'R' Us like with Grimlock, unless it being a Wal-Mart exclusive has already been confirmed. :shrug

The secondary market majority doesn't believe that TC will be released in the US. Since Hotrod will be released as the next MP, minus the Rodimus trailer when they release Galvatron next that will probably roll over for the US next year. (Speculation here).

Most of the toy stores on line and Ebay have jacked up the price on MP TC as a result. At best I'd say it would be 2013 before we see MP TC if at all in the US.

It is unfortunate for me, I had the opportunity to buy one last year, was a toss up between MP Nemesis Prime and TC, and I picked Nemesis. There's tons of Nemesis primes out there... ug.

Having 3 MP Jets already, and considering some of these new fan made MP jets (thrust, dirge and ram jet) I can live with out it. I can just count the gray Japanese starscream as TC. 3 variant jets are 3 variant jets.

I have to wonder if WM or Hasbro will go with a TC MP exclusive release. I'm thinking they might have taken a bath on the SW's. The WM's around here(OKC) were flooded with them and a local reseller I deal with has about 20-30 in storage alone after he bought them at like 50+% off.

At this point I would say it's a toss up whether TC see the light of day on US shores. After Skywarp saw discount after discount and is now at Big Lots or somewhere like that, I would think whoever has the opportunity to assume the exclusive rights to Thundercracker might think twice.

At one point people were saying that the US would get him after Grimlock but with Rodimus coming I doubt it we'll get Thundercracker anytime soon.

I actually got lucky and got a Takara Thundercracker on clearance but would probably pick up a US one if it came out.

I'd rather have a Generations Thundercracker, should be an improvement on my Henkei Thundercracker

Im guessing the ONLY time soon we will get a MP-TC, would be 'IF' SDCC released one as their exclusive. But its unlikely that would happen due to its price to make and its exclusivity, that would make it even more in price. In turn harder to sell. And since Skywarp is at TJMax's now along with the TONS of ROTF stuff, im pretty confident we wont see a retail release of him at all. Best bet is go Takarab on this one. Im skipping him outright, and i have Starscream and SW (unless there is a RETAIL release)

After finding MP Skywarp for $20, I painted him blue. A set of repro labels later, and there’s my Walmart Thundercracker for $30. I really doubt it will get any better than that.

Where did you find him for $20? I would totally pay that; I passed at $60 retail. (Couldn't justify a lesser repaint for $10 extra over its initial US release.)

Your story also reminds me of how I came to possess Masterpiece Optimus: $25 online clearance, plus $10 for repro full-length smokestacks. Best $35 ever spent. ;-)

How much are they going for at TJMax?
