Why do people hate the Transformer movie by Michael Bay

Recommended Posts

Here, this should explain everything.

Part 1

Part 2

Too funny but yet very true. I think what upset me in the TF movies is how we as viewers were all prelabeled by michael Bay. He figured we were all nerds that would love a movie with big explosions and a "Hot" Chick. I mean why the hell do Nerds need a Plot or good designs if they get to see a "Hot girl get her leg humped By a robot pervert. I mean do all of us just dream of that???? Yeah

Either way Both movies were just a waste. They could have given us great stories (instead of ripping off the underbase idea from marvel) and all that other junk. Why make the characters look like crap? It made no sense. And as for his thats what aliens would look like junk. Yeah I can guarantee you if Michael Bay Ever saw a Real Alien Im pretty sure he would make a Crappy Movie about it.

I am of the party that enjoyed them both, but felt 2 was just too much flash and barely any substance and paced along like a race horse with a 1000mg's of speed in it's system.

That said, the litany of things that should have been kept vs. that which should have been shit canned is long. I do however understand the direction he/they went, after all, you know Hasbro was angling for a completely new toy line and let's not forget GM wanting to showcase it's new Camaro and various other products(two of which are now defunct funny enough). I seriously doubt the original ark landing on earth 4 millions years ago origin story could not have been used(Just as an example, choose any super hero film of late and look at the often cumbersome origin story and so on). But I digress though, new story, new toys, new idea, same old Transformers ideology, what ya gonna do about it?

Like most of us, we hold our noses and enjoy it as best we can and buy the new stuff or turn our backs on this specific line(to some degree) and buy just some of the new stuff, which unfortunately I have a foot in both. Those of you that completely rejected the Bay-verse and all it's offerings, I bid you a better person than I.

See I hate the movies and I still buy the toys and merch. I just hate how the franchise was handled on the screen. And I have to say this "Transformers are not Lego toys"

I hate ROTF more than the first movie. I do think Transformer 2 should have been about Devastator, not The Fallen. It could have been a nice homage to monster movies and easier to watch because of the focus on one villain.

I agree with you on that there should have been just one main villain. The Fallen was pretty much a waste and did not make a whole lot of sense to me in the film(When Meg's went back to Cybertron, and was "Yes my master.", it felt too much like the Emperor and Darth Vader). Megatron should have been played after his resurrection as unleashing all sorts of havoc on the planet via Devastator and the rest of the Decepticons. That should have been the revenge in ROTF. Oh, and Bay..Please, PLEASE, PUH-FOOKIN'-LEEZE try some character AND plot development out, I promise you, it works wonders!

I'm wanting to sell mine too, but the market is currently full of others doing the exact same thing.

I never bought the big boy, but I do have most of the deluxe series from the first flick and several from the 2nd plus the HA series minus the idiotic twins. So here's to hoping I don't take it in the face when it comes time to sell the lot of them.

Luckily I never bought many of the Movie figures and still don't! A select few is it. However, as for what this topic is about. I am one of the few who enjoy the movies not because they are particularly well put together, lets face it other than the first 45 minutes or so and some other parts here and there, the second film was craptacular on just about every level. The main reason I enjoy them both is because I walked out of the first film in the theatre thinking that robots that large are really real! And that is movie magic at it's best!
