Why do people hate the Transformer movie by Michael Bay

Recommended Posts

All of you seem to be forgetting how beast machines almost caused the destruction of Transformers, and more hate mail for one person Bob Skir then any other person got for any other series, Sorry but for those who watched beast machines and liked it are noobs and do not understand the damage that was wrecked by beast machines. and this is not even getting into the crappy storyline, the toys. Or the step back on graphics

"almost caused the destruction" of the brand??

I'd like to see you back that up.True Hasbro dropped its plans for the followup to BM because it didnt do as well as they hoped, but its not like they ever really considered dropping the franchise. They just went with dubbing a Takara series insteed of making a new series.

And I'm willing to bet that Beast Machines didnt get as much hate as "Animorphs".....and yes that was a Transformers line.

Sorry dude, while I wont argue Transformers took any leaps and bounds during it's time, BM definitely didn't do anything detrimental to Transformers. Well, aside from the flame wars and that ridiculous Bob Skir death threat thing. The brand is still around after all, though I'm sure some of you may have preferred it went a different way over the past decade.

Heh, I'm getting called a noob for liking it now. I was called an idiot for liking it then by some (and sometimes a sheep!) (admittedly I got called a idiot and a sheep for liking BW also, funny how that works out). Guess the only difference is the year date.

I dunno, I recall flame wars over reviews of Animorphs on TF fansites, but none over BM toy reviews.

I'm not sure of your point.

I recall many hating that Animorphs was a TF line.

Don't have to back up the exodus from Beast Machines, that gets proven all the time and it is still flamed about to this day. Those that like bm for whatever reason, you can back that one up with how you get flamed for liking it. The main issue about the exodus is how the show tried to undo G1. And the ending was the largest outrage. Causing many of the older G1 fans to dump Transformers altogether.

However I am mystified as to why you got flamed for liking BW Robo_Rob considering that it was BW that brought Transformers back. I never sided in the Truck not Monkey thing. Simply because Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal are two separate individuals. I merely disagree with the 300 year time span from the end of the 3rd Great War and Beast Wars. Which I solved by going with BW II and BW Neo time-lines.

I will give you that Hasbro tried to milk Animorphs, however the notion that it is a Transformers brand is true in a way.

Animorphs actually started out as a Scholastic book. you remember in school you could order books for cheap? It was one of those, Now Hasbro did release the toys under the Transformers brand, and other then that there is nothing about Animorphs that has any relation to Transformers. I completely ignore it myself. Seeing as how the show was also live action ala Power Rangers and no true relation to Transformers. Animorphs was merely Hasbro trying to milk a popular brand for more money, didn't go over to well.

That's where the hate came from, and why people got all uppity when the toys were reviewed on TF fan sites. While the same people didn't seem to care if BM toys were reviewed on same sites. So which was hated more at the time, well, thats up for debate.

I dont doube the man got hate mail, but I'm sure the reason he got more then other writers was because of how open he presented him self to the fandom early on.

And anyone that believes that BM tried to "undo G1" is truly uninformed. The opposite is more the case.

The ending was a let down.

The flames were there because Animorphs was not Transformers, people think it was, because how Hasbro released it under the Transformers Brand. So the feeling was at the time, that Animorphs had no place on a TF site

Correction.

Animorphs IS a Transformers line.

It shouldnt be but once Hasbro labeled it so its a fact.

Even Simon Furman Complained a short report on BM

Ok check this one out. Primus is Cybertron right? I know it wasn't until later tv series that Primus was shown to be Cybertron. But in the G1 comics and even before BW. it was well known who Primus was. So for Cybertron to have an organic core?

I don't consider Animorphs as a TF line. but then I also don't give damn about official, since it causes too many headaches. The Fans spoke about Animorphs years ago and I'm leaving it at that but here

How is this Transformers Animorphs Intro
