I read a thing once but never had it verified that the Decepticons were the ones who restored Cybertron.

No idea if thats acurate, but I like the idea.

To my recollection, Cybertron restored itself over time.

Maybe this?

The Headmasters cartoon

In 2011, it was discovered that the release of the energy of the Matrix by Optimus Prime to cure the Hate Plague had much more far-reaching consequences that anyone suspected. With the Matrix's energy depleted, Vector Sigma's balance—permanently tilted in favor of the Autobots by the existence of the Matrix—was reset to neutrality, allowing the Decepticons, bolstered by their new Headmaster troops, to freely invade Cybertron. Eventually, this forced Optimus Prime to sacrifice his life by merging with Vector Sigma in order to stabilize the computer before it destroyed Cybertron from within.

Not long thereafter, Vector Sigma developed a new metal alloy dubbed Cybertonuron, which enticed Galvatron into another raid on the planet. However, the Decepticon Headmaster leader, Zarak, feared the power that Galvatron would gain from the alloy, and so, to prevent either him or the Autobots from obtaining it, arranged for his Headmasters to plant bombs at the core of the planet, within Vector Sigma's chamber. The Autobots were unable to stop the countdown and the bombs detonated, tearing Cybertron apart and leaving it a charred uninhabitable ruin drifting in space.

[edit] G-2 story pages

When the Autobots and Decepticons finally laid down their armed and forged the Cybertron Alliance, they rebuilt and restored Cybertron, using the energy known as Nucleon, which Optimus Prime recovered from the core of a black hole.

Tens of thousands of years into the future, in the era of the Maximals and Predacons, Cybertron was reigned over by Vector Sigma itself, who handed down orders through the ruling body known as the Convoy Council. Big Convoy, Move Out When Unicron attempted to engineer his rebirth following his destruction eons beforehand, his lifeforce possessed Vector Sigma and briefly transformed Cybertron into his new body before he was defeated by Big Convoy.

Got this one off of TF Wiki

For those who missed it, the story from Beast Machines DID continue in several comics. Read the 3H Wreckers and Universe comics, the club voice plays, and the text story from Fub Publications finishes it up. It's set on Cybertron, after the big reformatting. Cheetor and Rattrap are there, Cybertron is technoganic. Magnaboss runs Cybertron, Optimus Primal, Depth Charge and Rhinox are returned to life from the Allspark. A couple of G1 Autobots return to Cybertron.

There are so many things wrong with this picture. It pains me.

What? You don't like the Techno-organic Cybertron?

Oh and anything from 3H and The OTFCC, is not real and utterly worthless as far as canon goes

Sorry LO, but that's a load of berillium bologna. They are officially licensed media. If you don't like them, that's personal taste... and they are the only ones to publish stories which continue the story post-Beast Machines. So it's official.

If this is strictly cannon here, then I have to agree with Scaleface. It can't all be roses, but still, it is what it is.

Can't blame FP or 3H for the technorganic Cybertron, they did that in the last episode of Beast Machines. In fact the FP did some cool stuff with it, like deciding that one city, which the Decepticons took over when they returned to Cybertron, remained technological. It was run by Thundercracker.

I think it's funny how people say "G1" and think it means the Sunbow animated series continuity. G1 was more than one TV show. There was a comic, a toy line, books, records, etc. All of them were G1.

Oh, and on the topic of how the TV series ended, we have this year's Botcon comic, which was set years after The Rebirth episodes. A couple years back they did a story set years after the Marvel comics ended. Fun Publications did their stories set after the Beast Machines ended. Am I sensing a pattern? Clubs do stories continuing the canceled fiction of others.

Are the BotCon/OTFCC stories really "official" TF canon?

I/D/14

Last modified 2005-Mar-18. This is sort of a tricky question depending on exactly what you mean by "official". The convention stories are all approved by Hasbro. They have Hasbro's blessing, and bear official TF trademarks and logos. So, in that sense, the convention stories are every bit as valid as the Beast Wars TV series, or the Dreamwave comics, or any other licensed fiction you can name.

There are a couple subtle differences which some fans consider meaningful, however. Most of them are centered on the fact that 3H's stories are written by fans, for fans, and only given Hasbro approval after the fact. This is in contrast to something like an animated series which is created at Hasbro's behest and is paid for out of Hasbro's pocket. They go to an animator, say "make a show about these toys", and then fork over the cash. So, Hasbro's involvement in a TV show could be seen as more proactive, as if they actually "want" that story to exist, while the convention stuff is merely given a stamp of approval, possibly not meaning much more than "sure, whatever". Of course, the G1 comics from Dreamwave were in much the same situation as the convention fiction on that note, since it wasn't about selling G1 toys, but not many people question their officialness.

Another issue for some fans is the limited distribution of convention stories. Most Transformers material is available to millions of people at a time, in the form of TV broadcasts, mass-distribution comics, and so on, while the 'con has less than a few thousand attendees yearly. The convention fiction all becomes available online eventually, but it still has much smaller exposure than other stories do.

Both of these arguments against "officialness", however, are better suited as arguments against considering the stories "canon". And, as described in section [N/A], that's pretty much a personal decision anyway. In the end, Hasbro still gives their approval to the stories, so they are official Transformers stories in the only sense that the word "official" really has. What you want to do with that in terms of how it affects other stories -- ignore it, incorporate it, whatever -- is up to you.

Sorry man, they ain't nothin, and yes I side with the personal canon, as official has been screwed up for years, and I never cared for it in the first place :tflaugh

Oh and even idiot Hallit, said the 3H stuff was no longer official

Oh and even idiot Hallit, said the 3H stuff was no longer official

yeah, but Fun pub did do the Wreckers wrap up. Which means it's still in the legal official realm. Of course it's all alternates in the Multiverse... so really it's up to anyone to pick which one they want to go with.
