Which Transformer toy line had the hardest transformations?

Recommended Posts

MP Meg's was by far the hardest for me, and it has only been x-formed once in the two years I have owned him due to that. Alternator's were difficult but fun for me with the exception of Optimus. I either got a bungled QC one or something because once I get him to truck mode, if I just touched him, the tension in the mold almost rips him apart.

ROTF Jetfire has straight out stymied me, I cannot get him smoothly into jet mode. So him and Optimus(Which is actually a blast to transform) stay in combined mode and stand around looking smexy on the shelf.

Alternators, and not in a positive way. Not challenging in a fun to work out sense, but in a "how the f*** does this go without breaking the laws of physics?" sense. Even ROTF toys make sense once you work them out (with a couple exceptions).

Binaltech. Harder to transform than Alternators because of the fear for paint chipping. :P

That said, a lot of the movie molds are more complex than most Alt/BT molds.

i still have a hard time with ROTF Prime, those windscreen peices that snap into his chest are showing minor stress, and they make me sweat when i pop them in or pull them out. awesome toy, but geez, he is a real pain in the ass. on the other hand, leader starscream is pretty freaking perfect; he has a complicated yet easy to perform transformation.

I've never had Alternators, but in my opinion it was the only Star Wars transformer I have. The Darth Vader Death Star. it took my at least 30 min at least to transform him! And then my little brother would roll it like a ball and it would take me another 30 to fix it.

Well if it's Toy, I would choose MP Megatron. It took me 2hrs for 1st transformation.

If it's toyline, I would say Binaltech is slightly harder than alternators. with alternators, no die cast no paint chipping worry...

that was a puzzle, but not a challange. Pretty solid and balanced too once you lock everything in place

God d@m MP Sky Warp. Everything has to be positioned exactley right. And th wings, fins, toes, and the entire front section(canopy, nose, cockpit, ext.) constantly break off! My nose is broken permanently off. To make it easier I sanded some parts you have to get in exact position, and bulked up some smaller joints. Now I'm just hoping I don't have to do the same to my MP Conehead when it arrives. (though I know I'll have to do some painting and add wing turbines to make it a true MP Thrust.)

Bw neo.....

i'm talking about you Mach Kick.....

Got him and Archedis vs. pack 3 days ago. Man his waist likes to pop off!

I think I've just about gotten my point out.

I had a REAL hard time with HA Bumblebee, and I found ROTF Prime harder than any of the masterpiece TFs. Getting all the panels to line up just right on Prime made me crazy. Galaxy Force Megs gave me a little grief, but I think that's more in trying to get him to stand up in SCM.

Rid hands down, sideburn, x-brawn and prowl are something like castiron hard but and ultra magnus Optimus Prime combined or separate could cut diamonds. Alts are meant to be an intricate conversion deluxes should not. A lot of movie stuff is unnecessarily difficult as well my leader class brawl is a stress marked mess. Death to the movie line, kill them all.
