Which Transformer toy line had the hardest transformations?

Recommended Posts

I think this award goes to Alternators. I remember spending up to close to 30 minutes to an hour trying to transform a figure from vehicle mode to robot mode, and then back again, for the first couple of times. Granted, repeated attempts did make the transformations easier, but my god, there were sure tough ones. Grimlock is the only one that really comes to mind. I think the more complicated the transformations, the more I am turned off of to the figure or the line. It definitely makes it hard to time the 'ch-ch-ch-ch-ch' sound that transformers make when you try to transform a figure that takes at least a half-an-hour to transform. LOL!

The easiest would definitely be Generation 1 Transformers, AAAAAAND that's why I love them so much. :P

So which Transformer toy line would you say had the hardest transformations? Any examples of figures in that toy line that you can think of?

Definetly Altinators. Between the large parts and tight spaces, near every one was a challange

_On a side note, I consider Human Alliance and MP as part of that line up.

:agree with Liege here. All 3 of those lines were a challenge. However some ROTF figures are pretty difficult too. Like Jetfire and Mixmaster the first couple of times

Well, if nothing else, the hardest figure I've ever had to transform was RID Sideburn.

Binaltech Wheeljack was the hardest followed by the RiD line

Alternators definitely. While they may have been good figures, they were hard as hell to transform. Case in point: the mold used for Ricochet and the subsequent repaints. You had to angle his leg joints exactly right in order for the vehicle mode to collapse smoothly. Problem was, there were multiple joints. :fire

the hardest one for me was 2007 movie Optimus Prime and Ironhide and also rotf thust

Alternators, and mostly because of Grimlock/Wheeljack. Binal-Tech gets extra points for having die-cast parts that ran the risk of getting scratched paint.

BW Neo. I'm looking at you Machkick, Deadend, Break, and Magmatron.

Alternators were challenging in a fun way. Tracks was really difficult to get the legs under the hood in just the right way. May just be my version though.

Next to Masterpiece (please dont break because I spent a hundred bucks) Megatron, my vote is with Alternators Wheeljack. I'm still hunting for Alt Grimlock...

The Alternators are IMO one of the BEST Transformers ever produced.

Here's hoping the Human Alliance figs keep coming from the third movie...
