Masterpiece Soundwave?

Recommended Posts

Who would be down for a Takara Masterpiece G1 Soundwave figure that also included two or three small tapes in Masterpiece style (Ravage and Lazerbeak would have to be at least included)? I would gladly pay 200-300 dollars for this figure, even if it required me to get three jobs to pay for him. In fact, I am surprised they haven't made him yet since he is a fan favorite character.

I'd rather have a Masterpiece Rodimus Prime

I gave up waiting and built my own! ;)

Would love a proper one though. But with the cassette player aspect I'm not sure if they consider him appealing enough. I mean the seekers for example are an awesome scale model F-15, but how much mileage can they get out of a big ol' Walkman?.

I'd like that, but if came out at $200-$300 I'd pass real quick.

MP, Limited, or whatever there has to be a price cap on brand new figures. Especialy with the funding Has/Tak has there's no reason these should ever go over $125.

See, I could see myself spending 2-300 dollars on him because I rarely buy any Transformer figures. In fact, the last figure I bought were the Insecticon 3-pack set back in September. Granted, as you know, my next two purchases are MP Optimus Prime and Megatron. Just gotta find a way to afford them first. :P

Yeah, your custom is what gave me the idea for this thread. You did an amazing job on him. You should have taken pics with the old regular G1 Soundwave for size comparisons. I want one too. ;)

my thing is, especialy Has/tak, they don't need to charge as much as they do on the high end pieces.

Think about it. MP-01 cost about $80 when first released. MP-04 was near $200 if not more.

The figure is a reissue with little more then a plastic box with a tower. How the hell does that cost $120!?!

What makes it worse is that you still have to go to a third party manufacturer to get Roller.

People jumped on it though, and I can understand them wanting a complete MP Prime set, but in doing so they both justified and encouraged the mark up. Now look what we get, anything MP get's slapped right away with a $150-$275 on whats mostly done to death repaints.

You can justify it however you want, cost of materieals, collectables, limited...

It's become a screw and thats about it.

So with all respect, and not calling you out or anything, when I see someone say they wanna pay more the top dollar for something that should at the most cost $70-$90 it just adds to my dislike of the situation.

I'd rather have a Masterpiece Rodimus Prime

:agree

Thanks, glad you like him! I'm going to take some size comparison pics and add them soon.

At the rate of new MP molds, even if we do get a real MP Soundwave it could literally be years away. Just wish that line got more priority. Surely they could manage at least one new mold a year? I'd gladly sacrifice an entire wave of Power Core Combiners or whatnot for an extra MP!!

Music Label Soundwave is masterpiece enough for me, especially since he's a functional MP3 player. I want a MP Rodimus Prime or a MP Ultra Magnus trailer first!

I agree an MP Soundwave would be a waste of time. They didn't do much to improve the transformation on Grimlock so they gave him a bunch of gimmicks instead. There's not much they can do to improve SW to an MP level. The ML SW was a good update and fits in fairly well with the classics stuff.
