Just do what I do. Don't buy them, There are only 2 figures in the G2 line I liked Tank Megatron and Laser Rod Optimus. outside of those none of them are worth it.

idk man, I like that BB & Starscream repaint in the black and teal. you cant hate on that one.

Even the Skyquake and Thunder Clash repaint in Machine Wars was pretty cool. (is that considered G2? hell it was in Europe right?)

The original was Dreadwing and Smokescreen. The Megatron and Starscream for G2 was never released. I myself have the Black and purple BB and Starscream from Beast Wars II.

I like that one. As far as Skyquake and Thunder Clash? I would say G1 European Exclusive as it was Predators vs Turbomasters

I agree with that. G2 is what it is. Frankly, I find the over-sized missile launchers to be far more offensive now than any of the color schemes.

Mike, I agree about the guns---I rarely use them if I display the G2 stuff.

Seems to me that the Machine Wars stuff was an answer to folks over here in America who were against Beast Wars---they came out at about the same time and the Machine Wars packaging looked very similar minus the scales and eye deco to the Beast Wars stuff, except blue instead of red. I had all of them and have dumped them since because basically none of the molds were screaming the renamed characters to me. Had I known about the European Skyquake and Thunderclash at the time, I may have kept the black Starscream (Landquake) and Thunderclash as Prime, just calling the molds by their Euro molds. Oh well, they were stripped down anyway. If I ever want em again, I suppose I can buy them or the European stuff back.

I do agree about your Machine Wars answere to Beast Wars, I thought the same thing. If you were to replace them though, I'd go MW, the european released are suffering from serious GPS.

I learned the hard way on Thunder Clash, then researched and forund out SkyQuake is doing even worse.

I've never been a fan of the G2 line.

To me, it's like the Mustang2's of the mid 70's. They should have never bore the name Mustang. They were closer to hatchbacked Gremlins than Mustangs.

I view the G2 line in the same light. A mistake, best forgotten.

To me, BW's isn't far behind. I was never a fan of Transformers turning into a zoo. That said, I respect that others enjoyed the writing and there are different strokes for different folks. But I have no love for them. TO ME, the more realistic the transformers are - the better - and how they should have been in G1. Hance, why I like the Bt/Alt line as well, that got me back into TFers.

youre right. i didnt realize that MW was out prior to BWII. liked the all black take of the BWII model also.

thats a valid argument about being G1 Europe, but idk. something about those color schemes and oversized missles just dont fit in w/ my perception of a G1 figure. It did appear after the end of US G1, but idk, they seem more G2 styled to me :shrug

Just do what I do. Don't buy them, There are only 2 figures in the G2 line I liked Tank Megatron and Laser Rod Optimus. outside of those none of them are worth it. As far as The toys from Botcon this year? Don't get them, just the pictures of Spark hurt my eyes.

You forgot Hooligan, who is awesome!

If I may quote from the club story "I, Lowtech", this is the reaction when someone first sees G2 Swindle.

I have to recalibrate my optics just to make sure they’re not malfunctioning. That it’s a third robot of the exact same construction as the first two is hardly a surprise; I’d have been more shocked if it wasn’t. But the coloration! Where the others are sandy-tan, this one is bright red, with bizarre splotches of purple in a camouflage that would only work on certain rare, deadly jungle worlds.

i love the colors. they're funny and neat looking.

i personally think they look very very nice.

other than the botcon seekers i think these are the best botcon figures in a while.. i wouldn't pay that much to get them, i wouldn't even pay the botcon price to get the seekers, but if they came out at regular retail i'd definitely pick them up.
