okay what about... scrapping the whole G1 thing (dont kill me for saying it) or at least the retelling idea and build off what alot of us are happy with right now, the Alternators.... they are great toys, licensed by big auto companies (think business that means money), they currently dont have a story like binaltechs, Real Cars + Real People = Live Action + Real Cars, IT JUST SEEMS REALLY EASY TO MAKE THIS WORK FOR EVERYONE, old characters - new bodies... see...

 

I wouldn't mind that really. Basically as long as they tell a good story and present and handle it well then im happy.

 

The story and how it's handled is one of the most important things. As long as they handle the transformers brand with quality and care. Meaning it better not be as poorly handled as the Armada toon or the G1 cartoon.

look the alternators dont have a show.. and it doesnt look like anytime soon, the binaltech story is pretty cool so far (i'm not sure about the cloning/multiple copy thing "smokescreen GT")

Hasbro does very little to none advertising for them, they are produced in limited number right now... hell the only reason they sell is because of the older/collector/fandom customers... the kids get the 7 dollar energon figures.

hell they can even redub the voices to japanize and we can ex-port something to Japan finally...

but i guess what you should gleen from this is that very few people agree with that point of view and politics have nothing to do with it.

I wanna throw my 2 cents in with this topic.. making a movie about something that was made 2 decades ago and trying to keep it in tone with it just doesn't work so well. G1 purists tend to forget that fact.. even thought it's been burned into their minds about the days they grew up in.. it's simply that.. those days have passed.. what year is it people?

Opening more cans of worms I see

 

G1 is very much alive. The G1 toys are being reissued in Japan and America. Plus most of the characters from Armada/R.I.D./Energon are namesakes to the original G1 Transformers.

 

So G1 is not dead, nor will it ever. It still very much here.
